This drama feels like reading a danmei novel but without the BL, does that make sense? Danmei literally means 'aesthetic literature' so it's like I'm watching an ostentatious aesthetic display. Tang Lici is also incredibly beautiful like shou protagonists from danmei and his past personality (when he was at Zhoudi Tower) reminds me of Yue Wuhuan from Mistakenly Saving the Villain...The show is so visually stunning I have to pause it sometimes to look at the background or the scenery or the costumes, so so gorgeous...
