I have no clue why so many people like this drama. I don't even dislike it because of the violence. The writing itself was just plain stupid. Like, it wasn't clever but it tried SO HARD to convince the audience that it was. And the pacing, editing, directing etc. were just so unbelievably jarring. I tried watching it last year, hated it. Tried again recently and yeah no. It's a bad drama. Terrible quality. Even Bai Lu didn't seem invested in her role and she's usually really good but there was a disconnect.

Yes all of this. RJL is so god damn mediocre in both acting and looks but has such a huge fanbase and I will never understand it. Li Landi is so underrated, she will definitely be the highlight of this drama

People can hate and say it's overrated, but like. It's one of my favorite pairings ever in a drama. They had so much chemistry and looked at each other with such adoration in their eyes. It's one of the few times it really seemed like the characters loved each other based on how they interact, not just their lines. These two were perfect for their roles

I really loved the conversation between Sima Lang and Su Yunluo when he told her about his identity and when she was telling him to save her master over her. We get little glimpses into their friendship and bond that they've had over the years.

You're so right. So many hypocrites in these comments. Everyone pretends to care about victims, unless the abuser is a pretty actress. So many excuses are being given. People saying it was a long time ago. People saying that her boyfriend was supposedly abusive too when there's been no evidence to support this other than her word, when there's actual evidence to show how terrible she is. People keep saying she deserves to be forgiven but like, why? She's a bad person. It's not like she was just exposed to have a bad attitude, her proven behavior is literally abusive. She doesn't deserve to be a public figure. She should actually go to the spanish university she pretended to attend, get an education, and learn how to be a decent person.

Literally all of those dramas are way better. Anle and Love You Seven Times are the only ones that weren't good but even they were better than Fox Spirit AND they didn't have the hype of a huge star studded cast and an insanely popular IP.
