Your criticisms are valid except the first one. There are a number of great dramas that go through that process and aren't done by Tencent.

I have my share of issues with this drama but I will say how refreshing it is that Wuhuan's path to evil wasn't because of any love triangle. So many female villains go mad because of a guy, it's a nice change to have it be because of a real inner issue she has within her own self. Her ego, ambition, self-esteem, and greed were the cause of her evil descent.

She's the only post 95 actress who reminds me of the post 85 generation and she's also the only one who's reaching a similar level of fame. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of other actors around her age, but she has a certain charisma and natural ability that sets her apart.

The ratings on this site are so scuffed. Tons of super low ratings for shows that are mid and super high ratings for shows that are also mediocre. It's so hit and miss, you really can't trust it.
I haven't seen this show, it could be terrible for all I know. But I've found some of my favorites that were rated terribly and I've also detested some extremely popular well-loved dramas on MDL.

Totally agree. It's not like they insulted her appearance, they criticized her acting which is literally her job. It wasn't so bad when she was the second FL but girlie is not dynamic or skilled enough to be the FL. I tried to give her a chance but I hated Memory of Encaustic Tile almost entirely because of her terrible acting.

Li Yi Tong kisses in a lot of her dramas though?

Something about her acting just feels genuine, her eyes are so expressive. I'm really glad there seems to be some progress on her new drama, here's to hoping it actually airs.

She definitely resembles her but like, that's just how she looks. She can't help her face, people reach so bad for reasons to hate on these actresses.

It was hilarious and very promising initially. As with most of these lighthearted historical romcoms, the plot is very thin/weak so when they delve into "serious" stuff it gets incredibly boring. Wish it would have just stayed funny.

Brilliant and beautiful storytelling. So understated, it felt realistic but with a dash of whimsy. I loved it.
