I found that watching the same actors or actresses back to back ruins my enjoyment of dramas. Once I take a break…
Agreed. But as rewatched this I remembered why I gave it only 5 starts. The second half of the drama feels really flat and I lost my interested because of that. So if I ever rewatch it again I'd stop when they get together.
O, God! I wanted to give it a try. But the whole cast looked ridiculous. The "e-sport" professional players were styled like models, the FL's face looked like it had some filter put on. The whole set up of "you're the only girl in the e-sport so we will dislike you just because, but then you will conquer our hearts with your skills and charm" wasn't even slightly alluring in this version. Dropped.
Chinese 5G I guess!! loooolIt is so fast that it bends even Time...! ha ha haaaaaaaI have a better question though.…
Yeah, it also bothered me a lot that the police was so bad at stopping the bus. I mean, it was a bus driver and the chemistry teacher who planned this. And the police is supposed to be trained to fight with terrorists. It should be easy for them to stop the bus. Also, why it was a Criminal Squad that answered the bomb tip? Shouldn't it be antiterrorist squad? Maybe then they would have some protective clothes?
And you are right, it was infuriating how they didn't try to repeat their most successful attemps. In episode 12 they were almost successful. Why not try again and break the window a little sooner? No, they wake up and try a completely new strategy 🤦🏻♀️
Rewatching this I realize there was one simple way they could've used to figure out the bomber... during one loop,…
I also think that the way they were solving the case made sense only if you followed their way of thinking. The FL wasted one loop on screaming on the driver and demanding to tell her his reason for the bomb. They could use your method or some other ways that were based on metaphysical circumstances of the loop.
i think she ignored it and was just very embarassed and ashamed to say anything but then it only got worse so…
Actually, it doesn't make sense that she got so hysterical. This level of emotions would be justified only if the guy did something drastic. But if it was drastic, someone would notice it in the bus full of people. Any way, the girl got away from the guy and could just stay next to the bus driver where she was safe.
This " reason " for exploding the bus doesn't make sense and ruins the ending.
I think the fact that the persons who harassed MengMeng and who leaked the video were never found depicts perfectly…
Hey, I agree the MengMeng story is the weakest part of the drama. As it doesn't have the weight to build up the reason for her parents'killing spear.
Answering your legal question... In most legal systems there's a way to quickly finish cases that are easy(=obvious), when the suspect admits and accepts the sentence suggested by the prosecutor. Then the court goes through simplified procedure and sentences the suspect in accordance to the agreement. I don't know Chinese law but it seems to be the case here. It was obvious how and why the victim died. The drivers didn't committed murder (=they didn't want to kill her). It's hardly negligence on the truck driver's part. More like the involuntary manslaughter (she jumped in front of his car on the road where there should be no pedestrians). The bus driver was negligent but not to point that he could by trialled for murder. That's why it ended with a settlement . From legal point of view her being molested and her jumping off the bus are two different things. IRL, the molester wouldn't be even charged with the involuntary manslaughter as it wasn't reasonable foreseeable she'll die if he harasses her.
Nice drama. Quite engaging through out without dragging which is rare for Chinese drama. But few thing i didn't…
I was also bothered by the muscular guy. In first few episodes he was active, for example: restrained FL when she wanted to break the window or fighted with ML. And then he suddenly went passive. Why didn't he help when FL was being killed?
The reason behind the parents plan was the weakest part of the plot for me. You're right it was full of holes. It felt that the message was that the society was too harsh in their judgement and the Police too lenient/incompetent in their investigation. But, honestly, if the girl who took the photo was silent then there was no reason and no proof for the police to act. Also, from legal point of few the molester from the bus was only indirectly responsible for the girl's death. Yet, he was made into the biggest villain and the worst criminal (worse even that guys who wanted to exploded the bus with all the passengers).
Had the show ended at episode 12 instead of 15, I would have rated it a 10. It got predictable and therefore draggy…
Finally, someone who thinks the same as me:) I'd prefer it so much more if they were successful in the episode 12. This whole backstory with the MengMeng kind of ruined it for me.
The bus exploded after he killed that woman, who would believe them when all the evidence is lost?He will not…
After the fight, the guy grabs the FL hand and leaves the bus. Instead of taking the bomb away from the bus and proving to everybody it was a self defence.
The drama is really well built and interesting, but the ending is kinda off… the motivation to explode a bus…
Agreed! The parents were simply selfish and obsessed. If it was straight after the girl's death it could be written off as some kind of depression/mourning. But after 5 years it was a calculated decision to kill people because they were unsatisfied with the investigation's conclusion. Also, even if they had a proof of the guy harassing their daughter, they were in the wrong. The guy was sleezy but the drama made him the biggest villain, bigger even than the bombers!
The part with awards for all the passengers felt off to me as well.
Was there anyone who didn't feel sorry for MengMeng's parents, even for a tiny bit after all they have done?
The amount of sympathy/understanding they were given in the last episodes ruined the end of the drama for me. I felt they were rewarded for their crime. They wanted police to reopen investigation and it happened.
FL and ML has experienced the explosion, have seen all these people die. How could they be so understanding toward the parents?
There was a scene in which the dead girl's mother heard people talking about the pervert on the bus and then the scene in which the husband said there was no one there for her to be heard. I'd prefer if the writer made the mother unstable so she would creat the whole pervert story because she couldn't cope with her daughter's death. And the police a little bit more efficient so they could stop the bus and the bomb.
Also, pervert or not, it was MengMeng's fault to run under the track. It was even showed in the drama that the driver was trained to help her in this situation. But she insisted on jumping off the bus. It felt so wrong to justify her parents' actions when she was partially to blame for her death.
I must say in advance that I don't vibe a lot with Cdramas. I dropped many of them, and the two I finished got…
I share your sentiment. For me the story reached it's climax in episode 12. I didn't enjoy the whole back story of the villains. Also, it felt ridiculous how much information Police was giving away by answering phones next to the suspects🤦🏻♀️😀
It was obvious though, because they got out of the bus. They were the only two that were able to get out before…
I was dissapointed that it wasn't clearly established that no one else than ML and FL could enter the time loop. The guy didn't board the bus thus he didn't enter the loop. What about all the others? The ML and FL should make the rest of the passengers enter the loop to gain their cooperation.
I wonder how Lee Yoo Jin feels about being replaced in the role he originated?
I don't think he's being replaced. He was cast as previous/ongoing love interest. And I think he's going to appear in this minidrama in the same role as well. It's not as there's going to be only 2 actors in it.
Whether it is a regular Cinderella story or a "reverse" Cinderella story, it is still a fairy story. From my perspective,…
Well, maybe check some other esseys? Written by authors with recognition? I recommend "The revolt of the masses" by Ortega y Gasset. It offers commentary on negation of the pursue of quality, not only in cultural works.
The rating on MDL ranges from 1 to 10 to reflect all levels of quality. 10 is excellent, while 5 is still a good drama (if you know how to apply the scale). You can like the drama overall but still find some of its part ridiculous. It has nothing with the "absurd standards of lawlessness " and much more with a rational mind.
Enjoyed it more than I expected. The only problem was that the ending wasn't trully satisfying after last 3 episodes.…
I really didn't like the part with the dead girl. It was supposed to give an explanation for the whole explosion plan, I guess, but for me it ruined the ending.
Because, what? The villains were justified for taking such extreme measures? All in all, they reached their goal: the justice for the dead girl. Poor parents driven to desperation by the circumstances?
Honestly, this whole pervet thing wasn't enough to justify the girl jumping out of the bus in the middle of a 3lanes road. So the parents didn't have solid grounds for their outrage. (I had a misfortune to meet a guy like this on a tram once, simply moving away was enough, I didn't have to jump on the tracks because of him).
So to me, the parents got too much sympathy. Should stay villainous to the end. Also, the last loop wasn't even exciting to watch after so many repetitions.
Enjoyed it more than I expected. The only problem was that the ending wasn't trully satisfying after last 3 episodes. Still, I would recommend the drama.
Im absolutely loving this series but KYD's character feels one dimensional. There is no chemistry between him…
KYD is like this in all his dramas, I think. He only has few face expressions. He's good at distant and cold bickering. But any other emotion and he's just staring intensely. I've seen him in 3 dramas and I liked them more in spite of him than because of him ;)
So if I ever rewatch it again I'd stop when they get together.
