Well, maybe check some other esseys? Written by authors with recognition? I recommend "The revolt of the masses" by Ortega y Gasset.
It offers commentary on negation of the pursue of quality, not only in cultural works.

The rating on MDL ranges from 1 to 10 to reflect all levels of quality. 10 is excellent, while 5 is still a good drama (if you know how to apply the scale). You can like the drama overall but still find some of its part ridiculous. It has nothing with the "absurd standards of lawlessness " and much more with a rational mind.

I really didn't like the part with the dead girl. It was supposed to give an explanation for the whole explosion plan, I guess, but for me it ruined the ending.

Because, what? The villains were justified for taking such extreme measures? All in all, they reached their goal: the justice for the dead girl. Poor parents driven to desperation by the circumstances?

Honestly, this whole pervet thing wasn't enough to justify the girl jumping out of the bus in the middle of a 3lanes road. So the parents didn't have solid grounds for their outrage. (I had a misfortune to meet a guy like this on a tram once, simply moving away was enough, I didn't have to jump on the tracks because of him).

So to me, the parents got too much sympathy. Should stay villainous to the end.
Also, the last loop wasn't even exciting to watch after so many repetitions.

Enjoyed it more than I expected. The only problem was that the ending wasn't trully satisfying after last 3 episodes. Still, I would recommend the drama.

KYD is like this in all his dramas, I think. He only has few face expressions. He's good at distant and cold bickering. But any other emotion and he's just staring intensely.
I've seen him in 3 dramas and I liked them more in spite of him than because of him ;)

I think what's crazy, is that this fake marriage really is fake🤦‍♂️
I mean they didn't register the marriage?! So how did she apply for the benefits at work? Simple stated "I'm married"? No certificate, no other proof other than "hey, there was a party".

With this one thing the set up of the drama is ruined. If it's not registered, she could just photoshop some random guy and pretend she's married. She wouldn't get the congratulation money but also wouldn't create the whole mess of pretended ceremony and relationship.

Also, the marriage for the sake of benefits was controversial but ok. From the formal point of view the facts are important not emotions. Who's to check if they are really in love?
But pretend marriage is a different thing. Frankly, it's a fraud.

Is she going to be forgiven because the management will recognise their mistakes in discrimination against unmarried employees? But a lie is still a lie.

Honestly, I felt it's one these scene when you don't get the whole dialogue.
It was easy enough to deny it and she was only mumbling.
I don't think she confirmed anything. It's just that he got another hint for his already raised suspicions.

Firstly, for whatever reason FL's relationship with the ex was kept a secret in their workplace. She even went to his wedding to keep the secret.
Secondly, it seems that the ex was officially pursuing I-rin while with FL it was a secret relationship. If it was find out, it would seem FL knowingly dated a taken guy.
Lastly, it's the ex's problem. It was never FL who was seeking contact with his wife. If anything, the wife went after FL. The ex should put a stop to their meetings. He didn't because he's immature and wants to have the cake and eat the cake.

I agree on the "can you wait for me?" part. It was an awful thing to say to anyone. And quite arrogant, too.

For the family/company drama, I think it will all end up amiable. They already like each other. The brothers will be ok. The fight will be with the ex's wife :)

There's another twist to the story as the girl has missed her period. I wonder what they're going to do now. She didn't want to get married in first place. Now, there are two potential fathers. I wonder who's her other boyfriend.
As the writer needs to prolong the misunderstandings between all couples to last for all episodes, I'm sure there will be some screen time spend on this.

I'm so happy to find out it's only 12 episodes! I was afraid of dragging middle part. But with 12 episodes I guess it will be ok :)

When I read the synopsis and saw the poster I wasn't interested in this drama. After the great disappointment of "Love Next Door", I've given it a try out of boredom.
It seems refreshing.

The story was inconsistent. There so many things that make you wonder "why?!" that the pleasure of watching is lost.
The main couple's relationship is a mess. First it's fake, then it's nonexistent and before the relationship is established, they are separated. Later everyone changes their behaviour anf life choices (without solid reasons).
The worst thing: it's not balanced by cute scenes or hot kisses. We hardly see them being a couple.
Secondary couple isn't even worth mentioning.

Goes in pair with ML suddenly becoming the CEO's son🤦‍♂️

I've seen her in Love between fairy and demon.
She presented this silly face, voice and movements there. But it was ok because at the same time she was able to give off the villainous or mature vibes when she was portraying other characters (the plot included body swapping). So I think she's a good actress and all the things you talk about was made by choice.
Still cringy sometimes.

I skipped most of their scenes but the little I've watched gave me an impression that their relationship was nicely written and their communication was good enough. IF you take the disability act out of the picture.
But for most people the act is too much and nothing after this is believable or romantic.

The guy kind of pulls the same act as the creepy CEO of the cosmetics brand did toward FL. Only the CEO was a villain so him using his position of power to pursue a woman he fancied was bad. And Jin is a "good guy" so his manipulation is supposed to be romantic.

WTF is the secondary couple love story?
The guy lies to her from the start, about everything that matters. And why? She's the best friend of his good friend. It would be really easy to pursue her in a normal way.

The drama starts really slow. Nothing much happens apart from longing looks of ML and akward falling in love. But it's ok as you expect the slow burn. The amount of billiard is watchable. Seems nice. There's only one WTF factor: why all other people, who are not Chinese, are so ugly? And why everyone in Finland speaks English?

Then comes the part when the main couple gets together. The seemingly poor ML suddenly has money to spare, privite billiard rooms and even billiard club. He knows everyone in Hel.
Seriously, they made him go in the "CEO on the spending rampage" mode and it was annoyingly illogical. But the chemistry is good so you bear with it.

Then (in all 2 or 3 episodes) ML is a top billiard player. Has even more spare money. Is all brilliant and what not. Everyone loves him. A specially his billiard opponents. I guess they don't realise they are in the same ranking and he's going to make them loose their ranks. They are professional player that are happy to loose.
I guess I wouldn't mind it so much if there wasn't so much "angst" pushed on the viewers in the second half. The family opposition, the trainer's death, the "am I pregnant?" part. It's all there to add some story to the plot as all these events don;t really affect the main couple's relationship.
All this drowned in billard scenes. Honestly, half of the time there's someone striking billiard balls. If it's not ML, then it's FL, other players or some random people at billiard club.
You may think it's normal in the drama about billiard players. But it REALLY does nothing to the plot. They hit ball after ball for five minutes, then say that drinks are on them for the whole night and leave to eat out. The only point of billiard scenes is to show off how brilliant the ML is. But it's firmly established around episode 10 so there's really no need for that in episodes 20-30.

In the end even fluffy scenes felt flat as they grew repetitive and boring.

That said, I still enjoyed the first 20 episodes. It's the first Cdrama I've seen in which ML is showed to be physically attracted and ACT on the attraction. Although I think the intensivity started to early in the show and that's why it lost its sparks toward the end.

I liked the romance part but didn't like anything else. Actually, I'm here to rant about it.

The step brother is supposed to always care about ML. His behaviour was supposed to help ML overcome his emotional problems (shock terapy). So the stepbrother is mean and is asking other people to be mean to ML. But in the end they all become one happy family.
This said, I found the plot twist a too big suprise and it wasn't convincing for me so the end of the drama felt off because of this. In 5 minutes they go from archenemies to best friends and it's just too much.
