I really liked the first episode, but the subtitles could have been better, I think. It felt like they leaned a lot on direct translation which didn't always translate that well. Do GagaOOLala use fan-made subs?

First you should probably define what you mean by BL. This is a queer drama. The main character is gay. He has gay relationships with other gay men. So yes, it is boys love in that sense.

But it's not the dime a dozen, they lived happily ever after, homophobia doesn't exist, fluffy fantasy world drama like many BLs are. It's a realistic, true to life queer drama about real issues.

All eight episodes will be released on Monday.

It is a bit funny, because they are essentially just talking amongst themselves. For everyone else, for whom this is the first iteration of this story, it has zero relevance. So who exactly are they trying to convince that the original is superior? The other Go Ahead fans? Makes no sense.

Both seasons are currently scheduled to be released in 2025. For anyone confused: the drama was ordered to series with 18 episodes, and they have split them in two seasons of 9 episodes each.

I don't think KBLs generally have had an issue with gym dudes. Plenty of the most popular ones have perfectly normal guys in them, and definitely some that read more feminine.

It's an adaptation. They don't have to fit everything in. Just as a movie adaptation of a book does not contain everything that happens in the book, this will take its own approach to the story.
