Yes, and that is fair, because romance is a bigger aspect of Itaewon Class than Gyeongseong Creature. But when people speak of "romance dramas" genre-wise, they generally mean dramas where the main plot is centered around the romance of the two main leads. Which is something PSJ has not done since WWWSK.

Romance is not the main focus of the drama. Which is why the synopsis on Netflix does not mention anything about romance, nor does Netflix list romance as one of its genres (which they do with all of PSJ's actual romance dramas).

You are free to make things up if you want to, but neither Netflix nor MDL categorize it as a romance drama, because it isn't one. And that's why this article is written the way that it is. It's based on facts, and not your personal feelings.

Clearly this person has no idea what they're talking about. His last conventional romance drama was WWWSK. Itaewon Class had a romantic storyline (even a triangle of sorts), but it was nowhere near the main focus. Gyeongseong Creature was an action/thriller drama with slight romance. This would be PSJ's first classic romance drama in a long time.

Gyeongseong Creature still wasn't a romance drama, though? Not sure what's confusing. Most dramas with ML/FL have some element of romance, but that doesn't make it a romance drama.

GC was very obviously not a romance drama, despite the leads getting together.

To be fair, KTL was widely watched and loved, and any issues people had seemed to be based on the writing, not the direction.

Pretty sure Wi Ha Joon is not in Gyeongseong Creature 2.

He said in an interview that he wants to be ML in a romcom next, as he hasn't done that yet. I'd like that! He always does well with comedy, and he was a good romantic lead in Midnight Romance in Hagwon.

They have filmed 12-13 episodes in total, and it will either be released as two parts of Season 2, or (more likely) as Season 2 and Season 3.

He has been offered the romance drama Waiting for Kyeongdo by the director of King the Land and the writer of Encounter. Unclear if it's a romcom like KTL or a more of a melodrama like Encounter.

It was meant to air in December last year, but filming did not conclude until February 2024, then it premiered in March. Maestra took over its slot.

Definitely seems similar to Wedding Impossible. I think ML will be immature and annoying in this, too, based on what I've read about the webtoon. Hopefully it ends up being better.

Loved Moon Sang-min in Under the Queen's Umbrella, but couldn't stand him in Wedding Impossible, which seems to have some things in common with this. I don't mind the age gap in theory, but based on the stills I'm getting a parent-child or sibling vibe more so than lovers, which isn't great for a romance.

I liked the one where he was an angel and the one where he was a cat. But this and Numbers were sadly misfires for me. Hoping the next one will be better again.
