The first 15–20% are quite great.
Later it tries too hard to be some sort of Chinese Game of Thrones and just is, as the title says, Long.

There's definitely a quality drop in the middle that you would have to brace yourself for. Later on there's both some quite good and quite boring stuff.
As someone who virtually never skips or drops, I'm not sure what to recommend you? Maybe see it this way: if you end up only giving it a 7 on your scale, will you regret the time spent?

If you don't think that Zhao Lu Si is among the best actresses around, this show is nothing special. Some things are entertaining and quite original, some just drag on, some are irritating, and so on.

I guess the best chemistry / dynamic was between Wu Yi Jia as Zi Rui and Liu Shu Yuan as Bai Ji..

S1 had way more proper jokes, while S2 relied on those horrible "funny noises" that are the equivalent of a comedy declaring intellectual bankruptcy.

FL as you say very much remembers the second time they met and pursues him for it, and it is heavily implied that exactly that makes him *cancel* the, uh, "L plot" of S1.

I don't think the second season should be watched alone. It references (and rehashes) so much from the first, and often it's the cliff notes version of the story, very rushed (despite only being four episodes shorter).

To be honest the raison d'être of S2 eludes me. It's just the same thing in slightly worse (worse music, less funny, horrendously intrusive adverts, but at least a bit fluffier).

Example complaints:
- "their baby" not being convincing
- the ML finding solace in other women

From the negative reviews I was expecting this to be a 3/10 show, but it turns out that a lot of the complaints I was expecting to share came from people who did not actually watch the full show and just skipped around through it, or watched it without subtitles or something.

The male lead does not cheat on her in season 1 either.

He did not find out that she was the difference-finder™, but it gave her the courage to volunteer to work with him on the violin tuning later, which is why she's somewhat credited as its co-creator.

These kind of important things never reappearing (characters never learning about them) is quite frustrating for me in dramas, but here it barely played a role.

The last episodes are filled with nonsense that didn't have to be there, at the cost of actual 'closure'.

As a fluffy rom-com, it's not fluffy and barely rom or com.

(I vehemently disagree with it having the genres Music and Youth on here. It might just as well be tagged Food or Alcohol.)

Besides the second leads plot being reasonably original, I have no idea what I spent 18 hours watching?

The ending of Goblin ends where it ends because any kind of physical contact wouldn't be appropriate with a, well, child. So teary eyes are pretty much the limit.

He assembles a few in front of her, to which she doesn't react at all.
And later on, she ceremonially receives the one she wanted the most.
Then it's all never heard of again.

Unfortunately, before those episodes they have near-zero coupled-up interactions with each other. 65% of the show they spend living unconnected lives in the same house, then suddenly they're hand-holding all over the place like they were freshly assembled twins joined at the waist.

Yu "failed" all the times he could have committed to her. That second lead pairing was never going to work out, and that's about the only good thing I saw in this show.

You can't even tell if the guy in the restaurant was a) an aspiring serial killer, b1) a spy sent by the ML to keep the FL safe or b2) rather test if she is into other guys now, or c) the ML in disguise who then throws a smoke bomb and reappears in his true form on the other side of the room.
(Once the ML appears, the other guy isn't part of the material plane anymore.)

I actually thought the second lead couple trajectory made a lot more sense than the WTF that the main leads were.

I was about to give the show a 4/10 or 4.5/10 because of how much of an uncalled-for villain the mother was. ^_^

I'm sure it has a lot to do with culture, gender, age, etc.
