Exactly! Ridiculous, huh? πŸ˜‚ I'm surprised that Kim Groomer still has a career, but also... disappointed.

Climax is so good, despite it's few flaws, this is the first new k-drama I've truly enjoyed in a while! And the fact that a woman is the director AND screenwriter??? LOVE TO SEE IT! 😍πŸ”₯ I respect her too, I know that can't be easy!

Person Kim Soo Hyun
β€œStanding with KSH” necessitate silence (as he is ), what you’re seeing from β€œfans” are really sasaengs…
You, my friend, are standing on business. I love it. Also, a certain person here had the AUDACITY to falsely accuse me of disrespecting other people's cultures and not letting express themselves in a drama comment section, and now they're sitting here defending an actual groomer. How hilarious. How utterly amusing is that? πŸ˜‚

She was in Hwang Jini? Another classic... why I don't remember her there? I know Wang Bit-Na was in it...
Is this how it feels to fall in love with an actress? Because I'm not into sageuks, but I will let Ha Ji-Won take me anywhere in k-dramaland. Literally. I'm becoming enamored by her, she's beautiful, charismatic, and talented. And she seems so pleasant behind the scenes as well.

The oldest drama I've watched & finished to date is Autumn Tale. Very heartbreaking. I do plan to watch some 90s dramas too. I know about What Happened In Bali- So Ji-Sub is one of my all-time favorite actors. I also heard that it had one of the CRAZIEST endings ever in a k-drama. I wanna watch Damo, it seems action oriented?

So Ha Ji-Won's earned her place as a legend in Korean movies & dramas. I love that! I can't wait to explore more of her works!

We've already established that a good chunk of people on MDL are misogynistic bastards. Look at the responses to Baek Ki-Tae vs Baek Ah-Jin... or how people treat Jung Eun-Chae vs. Kim Soo-Hyun (a literal groomer btw...)

*Some* k-pop fans. Obviously BTS broke massive barriers (and I love them so much!), but there were several groups/artists who were active in the US before them. I remember when Wonder Girls had their own movie on Nickelodeon, 2NE1's I Am The Best being in some car commercial... etc. I did not know about the second part though! πŸ€”

Edit: Earliest example that I know (no pun intended, lol) is Seo Taiji and Boys's "I Know" being featured in "3 Ninjas". I have not watched this movie, but the song was there.

welp, that was disappointing I was waiting for Sang-ah to show herself as this master manipulator, but they really…
She's more like a victim-turned-villain, which makes a little more sense. Also episodes 4-6 absolutely established Sang-Ah as a manipulative woman. Especially episode 6. The pacing is weird though, but by this point, I think things should be a bit... clearer? In terms of the plot. At first it was so hard for me to follow.

In the scenes with Jae-Sang and Jung-Won, Sang-Ah was definitely manipulating them lol

The moment Jae Sang appeared, I already had a feeling that Sang Ah would manipulate someone to kill him, or the…
Me too! Yang-Mi does feel like a side character. Like, she matters in the main plot, but also, her scenes feel totally different in terms of tone... a bit extreme. Maybe it's meant to be, idk. It just feels too out of place to me.

I do like Jung-Won, at first I was neutral because most of her scenes were her just staring (and it felt a little awkward lol), but once I saw her past, I ended up feeling so bad for her! 😭 Things might end tragically for her, I don't want it to, though...

I think Sang-Ah might be bi? They never specified her sexuality. Ha Ji-Won is a chem magnet so she's got chemistry with everyone... but as we know, Sang-Ah and Tae-Seop are using each other. No happiness & romance to be found here, folks. πŸ˜‚

I've been rooting for Bang Tae-seop from the beginning but I have a heavy heart after re-watching and re-watching…
Good theory! It's totally possible that Tae-Seop killed Jae-Sang... he's a very grey character, so it wouldn't surprise me too much. I can't see how his story with Sang-Ah will end, though. As for Jung-Won's death, very high possibility.

YJH has almost never played goofy best friends lol (at least not in recent years...)
Dealing with reality? Huh??? I'm aware that appearance matters in casting, clearly he wouldn't have been casted if he wasn't attractive, appealing, and/or talented somehow. I don't need you to mansplain it to me lol But beauty is subjective. This is you projecting your opinion of him, not a fact.

Again, he was a lead in Return (2018, he was a VERY prominent character throughout), Penthouse (2020/21, more like an SML), Shooting Stars (don't remember, he WAS the ML though), and Escape of the Seven (2023-24, a main villain.) In EOTS he wasn't THE lead, but in Shooting Stars, he WAS. Literally. You can find it online. Your denial does not make it any less true. πŸ’€ This is his first leading role in a DAILY DRAMA.

people complaining about the sex scene are such babies. it was there FOR A REASON.
That's crazy, because I didn't even see a sex scene when I watched it. Even then, it's a movie that's for ADULTS. Of course some sexual content was bound to be in there. πŸ’€

Okay, so I just watched this movie for the first time since it came out. I know it's pretty famous. I don't... know what to make of it? It wasn't bad, it was great, but the last 15 to 20 minutes were ABSOLUTELY INSANE. What a wild ride, man. I'm still trying to process everything that happened, because things went to shit, very, very, VERY quickly. I did not predict ANY of that happening at any point during the movie. Wow.

Everything about it was amazing, though. The actors, directing, cinematography, performance, BGM- all incredible. The writing was good, too. But even right now, my head is spinning! I'll give this an easy 10/10...

Why the hell is this here? This is not a Korean movie!?!
There's lots of non-Korean media on here. Even Filipino dramas.

Actually, k-dramas were popular internationally before k-pop. The Hallyu Wave began in the early 2000s (late 90s, for some regions), k-pop didn't go fully international (for various reasons) till the late 2000s/early 2010s.

Was it good? I'm having trouble starting it... it seems so slow-paced to me. But I'm not used to watching business dramas either. The performances are great, though.
