after watching ep 1, i'm looking forward to the rest of the drama! i already like qian fei and wish happiness for her <3
(if there's one thing to learn from watching this drama, then it's the fact that AI can never replicate and therefore replace humans β especially human emotions. i thought they would keep the original WRH actor's body and just AI replace the face with the new actor, but nope! they used AI to generate his voice and sometimes recreate scenes involving him.)
The people who got into cdramas only since hidden love or first frost or the recent POJ probably wont like this…
i agree. this drama is really revealing who's a cdrama newgen hahaha. the AI is the only atrocious thing about this drama. everything else isn't that bad as everyone's making it sound
Then enjoy it, instead of comparing it to what could have been. Just think of it as a drama that you missed two…
this is my mindset too ^^
thanks all the clips they released prior, i already knew beforehand that the budget would be pretty low and everything would be outdated or lacking, so my expectations were low.
i'm just glad we are able to watch this now regardless!
i miss this drama a lot already even though i just finished my rewatch. i'll replay the songs and my fav scenes over and over again until i get sick of them.
may yetan and youqin, qingkui and chaofeng, and everyone else (especially lamu, xiaomei, and wenren) live a happily ever after in the starry love universe <3
"Good and evil reside in the heart and are seen in one's actions. Even devils may have the wish to do good and accumulate virtue. Even immortals cannot guarantee that they'll not harm others." β Shaodian Youqin
qingkui isn't physically strong, but that doesn't matter since she is strong in her own way β kind, clever, empathetic, and brave. she is not foolishly naive either. i really like her character.
Eunmyeong's story is so realistic though... Favoritism in sibling dynamics is a factor shaping a lot of people's…
it's realistic but still disappointing for me β even more so because people kept saying this was the best drama they've ever seen, 10/10, award worthy, gwangsik is the best dad, etc. all that hype just for me to watch and see how much they neglect their son compared to their daughter.
like i said "this show seems so great from aesun, gwangsik, and geummyeong's perspective but from eunmyeong's..."
Damn same I have been avoiding this show as I donβt really like EY but rest of the cast her voice makes her…
esther's voice sounds normal here β not high pitched or cutesy. her character is an assassin after all. plus, guo jingming tends to have a certain dialogue style.
rewatching, and i have to say.... the sound engineer or whoever edited the audio sucks. i had this same thought back when i first watched but dismissed it, thinking i was just tripping. now i know for sure π€£
they must've used extra reverb on the dialogues because they sound like they've been very obviously dubbed in a room. c'mon, at least make it sound realistic.
also, many scenes have multiple short BGMs playing in a row with abrupt transitions in between. in some instances, the scene has absolutely zero BGM - just sound fx. then there are also times where either the sound fx and BGM are way louder than the dialogue or the dialogue is way louder than the sound fx and BGM.
all these make the watch feel awkward and distracting. (the show itself is pretty great though!)
ok so i made a whole comment (more like rant) about this drama now that i finished, but then the page refreshed! π i forgot some of what i had typed so here's a rough version of my critcisms
1) Beginning was good, then the plot derailed as the show went on. Went from focusing on ink, to focusing on schemes by the Li family, to focusing on schemes by the Tian family :/ There were other, more interesting ways they could have gone with the story. Like why not show her trying to expand her ink business instead? since it is a female centric drama about ink after all.
2) The male lead was suddenly given a big presence in the last third of the drama. But since we barely saw his character and his romantic interactions with the female lead for like eighty percent of the show, it was difficult to care about him, their romance, and the ending. (It's my first time seeing Elvis, and it's unfortunate that my first impression of him leans negative since the character he portrays here had no significant impact on the story and me.)
3) Speaking of ending β what's with the rush in that last episode?? They had 42 episodes to flesh everything out. + I don't understand why Grandpa had to die and why the male lead had to go to war when the show was almost over. Just for dramatic effect? For anyone curious, this is not really a happy ending; it is the typical forced happy ending that leaves you feeling unsatisfied and doubtful.
Some dramas do not need romance, do not need the female and male lead to fall in love with each other. This is one of those dramas.
if they're not gonna announce the date then i'll just rewatch one of my fav dramas π€
i hate watching more than one drama at the same time so they better not say it's gonna air in two weeks or something...... (thought it'd be absurdly funny if it's gonna happen now just cuz i said that)

but if they toned down his chsracter in the show then that's good news!

they're releasing so many clips! i feel like i've watched the entire drama already

but i know how u feel, i hate the excessive usage of AI right now. don't even get me started on the AI dramas....

either way, they should change it for SEO purposes. i never see anyone call him ryan
