yes, you can tell they put in a lot of effort in xiang liu's scenes. just look at his first few appearances as both xiang liu and fangfeng bei in both seasons 😌 i may not like how the drama slightly deviates from the novel but i'll always love their obvious bias towards xiang liu ahaha

just finished a once-trending thai show called girl from nowhere.

i've been in a drama slump. unfortunately. 🥲 after go east, i dropped some dramas, finished fangs of fortune, dropped a few more..... not a fan of the misogyny and overall just unlikeable writing in perfect match so it's on hold until i see improvement. then went to look for kdramas but even they don't have anything that intrigues me enough to start it.

and yes i'm picky. i might just rewatch my fav dramas lmao

That last episode had so many secrets being revealed, so many things happening at once. I haven't even processed this reveal yet and they’re already moving onto the next one?? 😭 It was so chaotic that it became almost hilarious. Disappointing considering it’s the last episode, thus not a good/impactful ending for me to remember this show by :(

Actually tbh, before watching, I thought this show would be dark and solemn since it touches on sensitive topics. Ep 1 kinda validated that but ep 2.... The overall vibe is too dramatic to the point it felt like I was watching some parody. The ideas were good but the execution wasn't really.

A good one-time watch though. Love Nanno's character.

i thought removing those 20 eps was a good thing though, because they were too focused on ML when the drama is supposed to be female centric

i tried it for yang zi (she's my fav actress) but it was just not my cup of tea, especially the visual aspect of it. the cinematography is pretty but too simple/plain, and all the warm colors made me sleepy. i'm happy to see the female empowerment and yang zi trying out a more mature role though.

i know there will be character development but why did they *all* have to be this way? like you're telling me there are multiple MLs in this drama and not a single one of them are likeable since the start, while all the FLs are decent?

sorry, i'm just tired of that + romance stories where the man treats the woman like trash or disrespects her, but they end up together anyway because he got 🎇 character development🎇

at first, i thought chai an (wxy) would be the one good man but then he defended his cheating cousin smh. lowkey disappointed cuz i was hoping this show would bring me out of my drama slump. guess i'm just gonna ffw to watch only lu yuxiao/kang ning and the other sisters.

this show is just about romance, food, and music. there are no antagonists, love triangles, deaths, etc. it's all easy fluff from start to end. the rating is high because some people enjoy this type of drama and/or are fans of the main cast.

if you're interested in only the secondary couples, then i hate to break it to you but, they rarely get screentime. and when they do, it's only for a short moment then they jump back to the main couple.
