i haven't watched newtopia and don't plan on it (personal preference), but just based on the trailers that frequently popped up on my youtube feed, i got the impression that it'd have more comedy and unseriousness. "parody" is a great way to describe it. i guess some people expected something like all of us are dead or train to busan. did they even watch the promo materials? what was shown seems to match up with what they introduced.

i've been watching cdramas for so long that i forgot how long kdrama fans have to wait for the next episodes :-)

anyway, why is the rating for this show pretty low? im just curious

typical couples when one says they should break up: cryings, misunderstandings, lies, "but why?"

rose when fang xiewen says they should break up: "let's get married," "don't forget to wash the dishes after dinner," shoves him into the pool to show him how his unemployment is only a temporary issue

in chunhe's reborn dream, the camera focused on the mirror, which this time, displayed both his and yaya's reflection. keyword: dream :(

the movie doesn't show the exact reason why yaya decided to leave chunhe, but i wonder if it's related to his disability. when she refused to hold his hand out in the bustling streets, i got the vibe of "i can't be caught holding hands / being in a romantic relationship with this person." that being said, i did feel like her care towards chunhe was genuine and that she truly wanted the best for him; it's just that the feelings were only platonic.

i agree to disagree with some of your opinions, but i wonder what you mean by "growth"? in s1 and s2, i didn't see any growth for his character at all; only characters who intentionally or unintentionally paved a clean path for him.

love how the movie shows yaya and chunhe are from two different "worlds."

yaya and her friends accidentally threw a frisbee near chunhe. yaya crossed the bridge to get the frisbee before going back to her side. i don't know how their relationship will look like in the end, but this seems to be foreshadowing how yaya will eventually go back to her "world" rather than stay in chunhe's "world."

in the beginning of the bathroom scene, the camera angle is either of yaya with chunhe's reflection in the mirror, or chunhe with yaya's reflection in the mirror.

this woman really loves to torture her audiences/readers 🥲
