I don't watch kdramas anymore. I'm just drifting until the cdrama I'm waiting for airs in Dec. I happened to chance…
haha i'm in the same boat. i've rarely watched kdramas since 2020, only a few that i thought would be interesting (this is one of them ;D) if a fellow cdrama lover enjoyed this then i believe i might too!
based on the description and clips i've seen, seems that romance is not the main focus — which is good. i feel like these type of stories don't need a sweet love story.
eta: thanks everybody for the input! i will give this a go when i come home from work 😊
can international fans order too? i can never seem to access qq music app at all TT
oh yes those stupid tarrifs.. i don't wanna give such a high price away to those people 💀 it's okay, i'll support jianci in other ways the best i can as an international fan 🥲
does anyone know what it’s the honey trilogy? Are all of these dramas by one writer?
copy pasting my comment:
Honey Trilogy consists of - Ashes of Love (2018) - Skate Into Love (2020) - The Starry Love (2023)
They're not supposed to be connected in terms of storyline or genre. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the only way they're connected is by their producer Liu Ning and their similar production teams (ex: screenwriters, directors, and OST singers like Sa Dingding, Mao Buyi, and Liu Yuning). Basically, they saw how successful Ashes of Love got and decided to make more dramas together, calling them the Honey Trilogy.
I heard rumors that the team originally wanted Starry Love's leads to be the leads from both Skate into Love (Janice Wu and Steven Zhang) and Ashes of Love (Yang Zi and Deng Lun). But due to scheduling conflicts and later Deng Lun's tax evasion controversy, they ended up casting other people (Landy Li, Chen Xingxu, He Xuanlin, and Chen Muchi).
Saw this melon by many pages on X today. I was happy at first to see this😭 that atleast there is some melon…
omg this is the pairing i was wishing for a while back (since i loved JCT's xiang liu and LYX's shangguan qian). and jianci is just too good at portraying angst and heartbreak that i wouldn't mind him starring in another BE drama — though i will definitely be sad for his character again haha
like most melons, this is highly unlikely to happen though
it was just a rumor around 2019/2020 spread by some weibo accounts later copy pasted by some YouTube channels…
yes, should take melons with a grain of salt. if it was true though, i'm glad it didn't come into fruition because ZS's controversy might've shelved the drama forever. and ZLH and XRH have better chemistry than YY and ZS, imo
I’ve seen a lot of people criticising Ai Mi’s drama with Hou Minghao and Ao Ruipeng on Twitter, saying they…
"didn't we watch it" girl who's we 😭 and what's with all the whataboutism? it doesn't matter if XYZ did something similar in the past; that doesn't mean it's okay to keep doing it!
"if you don't like it then just don't watch it" this mindset is literally the reason why situations like this keep happening. they know that fans like you will eat it up anyway.
i agree fans shouldn't be attacking her, but majority of what i've seen are fans directing the criticism to the production staff and her agency — rightfully so. like this is literally a MINOR paired with an ADULT. is that not concerning at all to you? kiss or no kiss, it's still portrayed as a romantic relationship.

a lot of the actors were HORRIBLE at portraying fear through their facial expressions, instead relying on heavy breathing and agape mouths. yawnnn
ep 5 "red shoes" was really the only memorable out of all. that final scene whewww!
