Same story but technically it's not adapted from the anime. The live action movie actually came out before the anime. It was released at Japan cinemas on 17 March 2023, a few months before the anime started airing in July 2023.

You're welcome! There's a screening after that but only those who had won the 'lottery pass' got to watch the movie. The news mentioned there were about 1600 (?) people in the audience.

From what I understood, the Usuba family (Mio's mother side of the family) has the power to interfere with (control) people's mind, manipulate consciousness etc (per Arata's conversation with Kiyoka when Arata goes to Kiyoka's office).
As a Dreamweaver, Miyo has the power to draw people into a dream or spiritual world and Miyo can enter that world. She can manipulate and 'brainwash' them (per Miyo's conversation with her grandfather after Arata tries to stop her from leaving her grandfather's house)
What happens during the battle is (in my opinion), Miyo manages to enter Kiyoka's mind and 'instruct' him on how to destroy the Grotesqueries - which is by 'cutting' / 'slashing' the soldiers who have been 'infected' by the Grotesqueries. That's how Miyo helps Kiyoka to defeat the Grotesqueries during the battle.
I really hope and pray that we're going to get the continuation to the story in the near future. It's not fair to leave us hanging around with that kind of 'hint' about Miyo's future 😅 I mean, the movie sequel for Trillion Game is already coming out next month and we know that TBS love MemeMio 😉 so let's hope there's going to be happy news for us fans 🤗
