Please note that what I'm about to say is just something that I happened to read (not a thorough research of any kind) and might not actually explain the reason behind why Miyo's relatives did not rush to rescue her from her father.
I once came across one article about a real life female Japanese poet who had lived during the Taisho era (the same time setting as this movie). She divorced her (unfaithful) husband and wanted to raise her daughter herself but apparently under the Japan law at that time, only the father had custody, not the mother. This is just my thought but that probably kinda explains why Miyo's maternal side of the family could only appear once Miyo was "let go" from the Saimori's house ?
I would actually love to know if there's any other solid reasoning or explanation as to why Miyo's relatives were not adamant about taking her under their care when she was at Saimori's household but I'd be content with this knowledge for now.

Yup, it was crazy enough for me, I had to watch the first episode twice 😅 It took me some time to wrap my head around the fact that those two playing Haru and Kirika were the same actors for Kiyoka and Miyo even though I had seen the trailer / promo pix before I started watching TG. So I could understand when I read comments from some viewers who were quite taken aback when they found that out. There's someone on YouTube who even accused Imada of doing some sort of surgery / facelift between those two jobs, simply because he/she said Imada looked too different! I was like, had he/she never heard of drama makeup etc ? Thankfully that person shut up after a few exchanges 😅
The top reason why I started watching Trillion Game was because I love Ren and Mio in 'As Long As We Both Shall Live' (I rarely watch K/C/Jdramas) and I was really curious if their chemistry there was just a fluke. I kinda expected beforehand that they wouldn't have many scenes together since she was billed as support character and 'Trillion Game' is really the story of Haru and Gaku. Suffice to say, I was in awe with their 'hot' chemistry here as opposed to their 'gentle' one in 'As Long As We Both Shall Live'. They are my OTP now and I seriously wish for both the sequel to ALAWBSL and Season 2 of TG.
It's a completely different story compared to As Long As We Both Shall Live. For one, it's a modern day drama and there's hardly any romance. It focuses on business + friendship + rivalry. But I do love seeing their acting range there. Personally I'd give it 9/10
