I recognize that there people who fail to recognize that popularity and quality don't always align—many popular dramas are just decent or good. I had high expectations for this drama because it's the second highest-rated historical romance on MDL after LLTG, so I anticipated it would be excellent. However, I ended up feeling frustrated and disappointed. While it's still a good drama, it is definitely overrated compared to other dramas in the same genre. Many of those dramas are rated higher than this one on Douban, and that makes the website more accurate. Regarding the 6.6 score, it's important to note that a rating of 6 is not bad—it's actually a sign of a decent to good drama (I explained that previously because some people were apparently freaked out about it) .

I watch any actor's dramas as long as they're good (even if I think the acting isn’t great, I’ll still watch if the drama overall is good). If I’m not mistaken, I’ve watched four dramas starring WXY, and I believe I’ve seen a drama starring the FL before, so there’s no bias here.
I just felt that way about their relationship. If they were just partners in crime and not lovers, it would’ve made more sense than her jumping from her marriage and trauma into another love story. But to be honest, common sense wasn’t a recurring theme in this drama.

Surprisingly, the flashbacks of the FL with her husband were better than those with the Duke, which felt forced and often cringe.
