Basically she sent the green jade (青玉)qingyu and there are two of the same colour. 2 green is 青青(qing qing) and 2 white白白(bai bai)So together 青青白白, (qīngqīngbái bái) is an idiom to tell him that she is innocent.I understand why the other translation is ‘clear’. It also depends on the context. She just wants him to know she’ has clear conscience .When he offered the Jade paperweights he wanted to tell her she’s offering expensive gifts and also to tell her that he’s

I think the comments about the concubines must have come from someone who read the novel. Mr Jiang mentioned that when it comes to matters of the heart/romance CYY is inexperienced. He also mentioned that he’s an introvert. Therefore I think these feelings were bottled up inside him. After he got injured he told his wife that he just wanted her to mention that they previously had interaction. CXQ was rather convincing even though it was all in his imagination.

When she first met CXQ she was only 14+. Naturally she would be attracted to someone closer in age to her. They share common interests. CYY was angry more with himself than with her. It was just a fleeting infatuation. He shouldn’t be this angry. She wanted to sort this out but he distanced himself. This is not a big issue. He was the one who mentioned that they should face problems together. What will he do in future if other men were interested in her? He cannot beat everyone up. I can understand his jealousy but there is no need to be jealous. FL made every effort to avoid CXQ. He should be appeased by that.
