I'll admit, there were a few flaws. The rewatch value for me in a 7, because I'll be skipping certain scenes. (I'm not upset I watched them the first time, though.) The politics started out taking up too much of the show, and in the beginning few people were on Si On's side. The abuse he suffered was painful to watch- but I think that was important. People with disabilities are often treated badly, especially when someone hasn't met them before. Pretending this doesn't happen might have made the show more comfortable to watch in the beginning but not as emotionally affecting. When people start supporting Si On, you really cheer. And there were always comedic moments, and of course the amazing In Hye. Favorite character ever!
Really, In Hye alone would have made me give this show high marks.

I thought the characterization was done really well. I really liked the characters I was supposed to like and disliked who I was supposed to dislike. The acting was good as well. I just watched a bit of Meteor Garden and was amazed how much better Jerry Yan was in this. Ella's facial expressions, as usual, were sometimes over the top, but I found her really cute and endearing in this drama.
There were a few things that bugged me. I didn't like was that every episode was full of flashbacks, some to events that had happened just minutes before. Intellectually, I didn't like how everybody just forgave everybody else for really horrible things without much reason to do so, although really I was gad they didn't drag out conflict too much. There were also a few complications that weren't really needed. But all in all, I thought this was great.

The main problem I had with the show was the writing- there were too many elements mixed together. The supernatural element especially was only thrown in from time to time- as if someone occasionally remembered it was supposed to be there, but didn't know how to fit it in. The ending felt strange for that reason. The acting was a bit clunky at times, but I felt that the actors did the best they could with a dubious script- or in the case of the actor who played Alex, with a character who was written with very little personality.
But, like I said, I enjoyed this show. The romance was sweet, although I was angry at the main female lead more than once. Jin and Kay had a lot of personality and weren't bad to look at. The case of the day, while usually weird and (for some weird reason) leading everyone to forgive someone who committed a crime, was usually interesting.
If you are looking for something amusing and not overly coherent, this might be for you.

I doubt I'll rewatch this. For one thing, it's a bit long, aided by those long silences I talked about before. There were long bits of the movie where it felt like nothing was happening. The movie is old so the fashion is also a bit distracting. The main lead always has his pants belted practically at his throat, for instance.
When rating music, my first thought was "Was there any music in this?" So that's why it's such a low score.
Overall, I think people who are more into movies with an independent feel than I am will enjoy it more.

I had a problem with the very end of this movie. This movie spent most of it's time suggesting that what is inside a person is more attractive than the outside, and can't be erased. It then tacked on an ending- i mean the very last part- that undid all that. This isn't a spoiler. I'm not talking about the main character at all. Basically, I liked this movie but was mildly uncomfortable with it. Was this review helpful to you?
