If you can make me cry just by staring and crying one tear, you are a hell of an actor.

Am I the only one who thinks this drama is losing steam?

I love this show, I really do. And I don't have a problem with the current story line or how it's being played out, except that it's SO LONG. The past few episodes have just made me feel so bad. I guess that shows the writing is effective, but I'm losing sight of the chemistry Naoki and Kotoko have. In the other versions during this part of the story I wasn't nearly as depressed for them. I have a feeling when the drama is over and I've seen the resolution, I will like this episode more because it amps up the conflict.

Uneven

The first part of this episode had me so embarrassed that I almost had to stop watching. Sometimes the farcical, cartoony vibe works, but at this point in the story it didn't. The mom goes way to far in this episode, to the point of making herself unlikable. (I love her, generally, so I was upset about that.) Kotoko's spying was awkward and not funny in this episode, because the atmosphere was much more serious. And, let's just be real, the spying and interfering has already been done to death. Now, for the second part of the episode, where things were less farcical, I enjoyed it more. Kin-Chan was great once again, and Naoki was obviously struggling. Kotoko really tugged on my heart strings.

Well, at least I saw that coming

This drama, from the very beginning, has been a bunch of cliches held together by string, duck tape, and the occasional musical number. A fluffy, occasionally nonsensical hour that keeps me entertained is all right with me, but this episode Trot Lovers decided to make use of one of the most tired, worn-out, hair-wrenching plot devices known to TV. Well, once something is done, even if I hate it I want to see it done right. The biggest problem here is that the leads only had 1 episode of bliss, not nearly enough for the audience to get used to the couple, so it is a little hard to suddenly deal with Joon Hyun being a jerk (again) and Choi Chun Hee being a sobbing wreck. The moments where Joon Hyun almost reminisced about something he didn't quite remember weren't even very poignant- none of them were about Choi Chun Hee or Byul, but instead about the simpler life he lived when he was with them. Give me him suddenly crying over lettuce, and maybe I'll be okay.

And- are the writers going to try to make Soo In a sympathetic character? It's not happening. You could have done it a few episodes ago, but she's full into crazy land now. Please don't try to convince me she's not really nuts.

Besides the hair cut, pretty good.

This episode I liked getting more banter between the leads. I like that the women MaTe seduces have backstories and are full, interesting characters.

Moving Forward

The beginning of this episode was hilarious! The rest of the episode was split between developing the relationship between the main characters and setting up what's to come. My favorite scenes invariably involve the growing friendship between the leads. The business parts of this episode were boring, and seemed too planned and a little dragged out. The conflict has to be set up, though, and I'm happy the show is moving towards what's listed as the synopsis. I can't wait for the next episode.

Frankly...not good

I still like the drama as a whole, but the ending was ridiculous and not worthy of the drama. A return to pure slapstick after the emotional scenes of the precious episode was, to me, not a good choice. The Ki-Joon/Bulja ending especially was disappointing.
