I kinda had low expectations for enjoyment because the ML is really not my style but holy crap, I really enjoyed it. It was a solid show, from beginning to end. There was literally no lull. I hated the villains but they were still entertaining and kept the story going!

About consent: she resists a lot. idk what to tell you. She literally tells him multiple times what she wants to keep a distance but he overrides her anyway. From giving her overtime work to keep her away from places, to literally cornering her in the staircase when she's trying to maintain secrecy. Also, yeah she's attracted to him, he's very good looking, very smart, and he's all over her. Ofc she's loving it. That's not the point. The point is, she is scared of losing her job, tells him and like everyone else that he might fire her, looks up to him and respects him deeply as a senior and then goes and sleeps with him.

Once again, the issue I'm pointing out is not that this is happening, I have worked with people who have been in situations like this. It's the fact that we are made to feel like this is a romantic thing based on the decisions that the show makers have made. Even I feel like wow, what a handsome guy trying his best to keep his girl... and then I remember that she could literally lose her job if they're found out because trust- she would be held responsible, not him. Which is why I feel deeply uncomfortable feeling butterflies when he's lovingly gazing at her back from his glass office.

I also want to say: you know which couple of toxic AF? Zhang Ling He and Wang ChuRan in Overdo. They were SO bad for each other and it was evenly matched because the power dynamic was equal. And STILL it tanked because ain't nobody selling Overdo as romantic.
None of this softly gazing into each other's eyes and withholding 53x business.
