I noticed some are already dismissing this drama but I think it's worth noting that they keep emphasizing on the fact that the story is a fairy tale turned into a live action set in a modern setting especially with the narrator and how every episode starts with the books being opened while showing recaps from the previous episode; this makes me look past some of the overacting from Matsumoto Wakana considering her character is obviously one of those classic, wicked villains you'd see in fairytales and understandably her mannerisms wouldn't look so off-putting if this was in a cartoon setting.
They really styled Yamapi's hair like his classic 2000s Yamapi hair lol during his flashbacks in EP7 and he immediately looked like he was in his Kurosagi days
His previous profile picture was perfectly fine before but I guess MDL likes to continue its trend by picking actors' worst pictures to be put as their pfp on here.
Will She get more big roles in the Future or only Support Roles or will she give up acting after her Marriage…
She mentioned she's very grateful and thankful for being given the opportunity to play many leading roles throughout her career and says she wants to try more supporting roles.
4 episodes in, so has this turned into just another case by case episodic mystery drama seeing how they've already solved the main mystery in the first two episodes?
edit: seems like the big mystery they're slowly hinting at is who exactly is Oizumi Yo's character. In EP4, Shinoda says he's very familiar with how Reiko was like in college in a conversation but at the end of the same episode he says he never went to college and they cut to a scene of him having a conversation with Eiji; there's more to him than meets the eye supposedly.
Glad they ended on a cliffhanger because the story needed more than just 8 episodes. Other than that, I did expect the finale to be messy with all the various storylines going on but what surprised me was how weak it was for a finale. It'd be even worse *if* this series never got renewed for a season two and THAT'S how they ended it.
Sato's possible death had left me so disinterested for the rest of the episode and maybe even the entire series if they really did write his character off. They better have not done this to one of the most, if not, the most interesting and intriguing character in the show but there were scenes foreshadowing he might not come back 😭
Great thrilling crime show + needed more Sato & Jake and a LOT less of Samantha.
They will wrap it up because this drama is not about the characters but more about the attitudes and the doings…
I'm mainly watching and commenting as purely a viewer of the show alone (not a reader nor comparing the series to the book) so I do care (for some, lol) and think the side characters matter. I'm not going to look past the subplots that's been introduced halfway through the show or hints that were dropped here and there just because they weren't characters in the book. If you're watching it just for the main character and skipping the subplots or dismissing them as fillers then so be it but I'm not doing that lol.
Eventually I'll pick up the book and perhaps rewatch it with the intention of comparing it to the book but until then I'm solely watching the show~

"The happy home life of a high school student who lives with her loving stepfather is put in jeopardy by a painful family secret."
edit: changed it just now so don't mind this comment, lol.
