Raise the Red Lantern is a movie about a young girl who become the mistress of a rich family, just like Zhen Huan At first she did not want to get married but she soon learns that she needs the master's love in order to live a "nice" life. The mistresses are all very different and they try to win over the master just like in Empress in the Palace.
This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. This literally gave me the chills after I finished the movie.

The romance of the these two dramas are really similar; enemies fall in love with the same girl. Both female leads are smart and can help the male leads become the next king.

Both dramas are set in similar eras. Both males leads are also similar in terms of their business. They are both the leader of a "dark" group, but are very warm to the girl they love and will sacrifice everything for her. Both of them also had 2 right hand men that are similar, a guy who uses his fists and a guy who uses his brains. Both female leads are bubbly and want to rely on themselves for a living.

Both dramas are set in a similar time period. Beauty at the Crossfires is set in a more modern time period where women start to think more for themselves and want to pursue what they want. Both dramas have a girl that married a man that they both don't like, but their circumstances are different. Both female leads also like a man other than their husband. The person they choose is different for both dramas. They also have problems with their husband's side of the family. Both drama also have some guns and army stuff in them.
