I truly understand why so many people feel disappointed with the final cuts. At this point, it’s not only about missing NC scenes, it’s also about the graveyard ending and the way the conclusion we were building toward never quite unfolded onscreen. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy we even got to see this series finish its run. If it had been left incomplete, I think it’s safe to say many of us would have spiraled. Just being able to watch the full story air felt like a blessing in itself. But in the end, that is still the bare minimum.

This series was created with international release in mind, so it’s natural for viewers to have hoped for fewer cuts and a more complete emotional and narrative payoff. I don’t know exactly what happened behind the scenes, and maybe we never will. Still, despite all of that, this remains the best BL I’ve ever watched, hands down. It touched me in a way no other series has, and my enjoyment, week after week, was through the roof. No amount of editing can take away how much it meant to me. And yet… I can’t pretend the cuts don’t leave a bitter aftertaste, and I think a lot of others feel the same way.

If the rumored NC scene the staff described was indeed filmed and then cut, it stings even more because it was a pivotal piece of Suowei’s journey. From what we’ve been told, it would have shown him fully accepting his sexuality, taking initiative, and even calling him “hubby.” That’s a milestone in character development, a moment of self-love and openness we’ve been waiting for since the very beginning.

Regardless, it is, and will always remain, one of the most beautiful things I’ve had the privilege to watch. I’m grateful I was there for its entire journey, to cry with it, to laugh with it, and to love these characters as if they were real but these cuts leave me feeling quite cold.
