I don’t plan to dwell on this, but I do want to say something that I think matters. What Ziyu did is wrong. No matter the circumstances, no matter what might have led to it, infidelity is hurtful and unfair. I don’t know the full story of his relationship and I probably never will, so I won’t pass judgment on the deeper details.

However, I do know that people were hurt, and that should be acknowledged. I’ve seen the girl involved getting hate, and that’s incredibly upsetting.

It’s disheartening to see how quick some fans are to pamper Ziyu and excuse his actions just because he’s now “single.” For many, it seems like that’s all that matters, that their idol is available again and in the process, they completely overlook the very real emotional harm that was caused.

This doesn’t mean I suddenly dislike Ziyu. On the contrary, I still admire him as an artist and as a person, but admiration shouldn’t mean blind support. Being a fan doesn’t mean pretending someone is perfect. I truly hope he reflects deeply on his actions and learns from them.

Most of all, I hope the girl who was affected by all of this is allowed to heal in peace, she certainly doesn’t deserve the hate she’s getting. Everyone involved in this situation is human, and they deserve both accountability and compassion.

At the end of the day, we can still love and support someone while also holding space for the truth.
