That is so not how the story was actually written

I feel it. I'm a lawyer too. And figuring out a work-life balance while trying to progress in both aspects, constantly weighing on what part is important, what can take a backseat, how long it can take a back seat for. The pressure we face from our families to get married, etc. It's all relatable. Especially as women looked down upon in the asian society for not being married. It honestly does impact your progression at times. But so does being married. In many places, you need to be married to progress. In others, the moment employers find out you're married, you become a liability.

There isn't unfortunately. I read it a long time ago so i don't have ever detail down but it seems off to me. I feel they could have built better on the actual story. There are some characters missing like the story of XY's brother and her cousin. Her backstory isn't explained her. BZ's nephew is paralyzed in the novel, which just hads another element to it. The way the FL & ML met is diferent. The fiance's death happened in the background, their first meeting was actually in Afghanistan when rebels push him one of their people and its XY who volunteers. So despite of their different ideologies, he admires her skills. He curious about her from the very start. . And her grandfather was his old teacher, he looked after the graden in her grandfather's home. He's the one who gives her the keys to live there on the GF's instructions. Overall It just created a different dynamic. Somehow gave their characters more depth. I wanted to see those layers. They didn't have much romantic moments in the book which they could have added to the show on top of this story. This is just my opinion though.

Well in the book she dies. Don't know if she will in the drama. He goes to prison because he beats up FZJ who crashed into his sister causing her death in the book .

Am i the only one disappointed that the show isn't more like the novel. I feel like they changed too many things. It was "adapted" quite a bit.

Probably because many people can't understand it right now and it just feels slow. Personally, i'm a bit let down because in someway the story in the novel was better

This wasn't a good adaption of the novel tbh. The novel was way better than this. They really messed it up and wasted the actors in this show. I love both YM and HX so it's such a shame.

Exactly. I completely forgot about that. To me it feels almost like a different story which is a shame because i love these actors, they can easily portray depth of character and nuances which the story originally had. It's still a good watch but could have been great with the parts they left out.

I am living for LX and ZY's interactions. They are so hilarious.

As far as i remember, in the novel the ML & FL met in Afghanistan. He was impressed by her skills there. Later she moved to China. The place she eventually moved into was her grandfather's home who was a mentor to the ML if i'm not wrong. He asked ML to give the FL the keys. The ML would come by the house every once in a while to take care of the garden. The Cousin i believe had a secondary couple with the young resident in the show with short hair. The cousin's interaction with the FL was just another dynamic that gave her character more depth. And in the end, i don't believe a wedding was shown but they were together. It was a slow build up of relationship which makes sense because she had to let go of the fiance she tragically lost. The fact that the ML and FL were together in Afghanistan was a strong connection between them. It's like they were meant to be connected, things kept happening to bring them across each other. Also ML wasn't such a jerk to the FL in the novel. He didn't brush off her skills.

I don't think episode 6-8 are available anywhere besides the official websites if i'm not wrong. Surprised DC or KH haven't uploaded them.
