Title My Unfamiliar Family Spoiler
I think it's fucked up and selfish to destroy a woman's life (vice versa) if the husband is gay and just wants to find a protective shield to hide his secret. It's worse than cheating. He shouldn't have ruined a woman's life like this. I find him repulsive.

can't this come a little earlier? i have started re reading novel for 5th time
Endure for at least 6 months. I'm just watching LLTG and IS to pass the time. But at least LLTG is good so for for me. There's absolutely no news about 7...have to wait until at least mid aug to know what drama. Sigh.

Omg. Ive been watching the anime on yt. Can't believe this is being adapted. I always wondered what the age gap was since ml and bro seemed to be in college and fl in middle school.

He is also clinging his fists when he stands.
Hmm, maybe just standing with hands relaxed is awksward looking as a soldier???? No idea. Maybe Wulei is trying to make lby look tough in doing so? I think this is his first military character? I don't count TLB bc his character is a bit different since culturally his character in TLB is born in the greens and has more freedom vs born in the capital/city.

For me the way he walks sometime. It sort of a bit awkward specially in long shots. His posture and gait for me…
yes, awk and rigid. He's still so young but with his acting abilities already...he definitely has potential to be even greater. He's far succeeded, in terms of acting abilities, more than actors a decade older than him. He just needs to hone down some minor details and it'll improve bounds. This boy will go far in life and career.

Very very well explained. I thought same too but people were like she is going to loose her identity, this is…
Our poor boy is definitely trying. I feel like CSS still doesn't know what she wants in a man for herself. She's not grown in a loving environment and isn't exposed to what loving couples should be like. Hence why I think her 4th engagement is truly the right timing for her. She's grown, matured and understood herself better then.

****Ignore my rant, I just wanted to express myself****

So CSS doesn't like that LBY is "controlling" or "guiding/teaching/regulating" her. I don't know what's the proper term since I know in chinese/mandarin it's "guan". Some viewers, including CSS, may not like that LBY is "controlling/regulating" CSS bc they think he's trying to change her nature to fit him. I think that's a grey area. Bc in Chinese culture, "guan" is a form of doting or love as it means the person takes time to teach and care about the other. He didn't want CSS to eat her biscuit bc it was late and he didn't want her to have indigestion. There's two types of doting parents and people like to do. The former, which is LBY's style and then there's Luo's style which is to please and heed everything that CSS wants. I don't think LBY was wrong in doing it. I definitely think CSS' mom is wrong in showing how she cares, even though she's still doing it out of love.

In, Go Ahead, fl has two non blooded brothers. The older one "guan"/regulates her a lot such as not allowing her to eat sweets at night bc of her bad oral hygiene...she gets toothaches a lot. While her younger bro caters to her every whim. Even their careers tells a lot about their relationships. Older bro is a dentist, who regulates her on her eating too much sweets and unhealthy things, while younger bro is a baker who likes to bake pastries for fl bc she likes sweets. There's a balance...if she lacks proper guidance and is only doted then she will become astray in some ways since if she complains or whines she'll get her ways. But if she's always being controlled or regulated then she loses her own autonomy and freedom (I'm referring this in general now). When fl, in Go Ahead, whined to older bro she wanted to eat ice cream at night, he said no bc it's too late, but he did it in a loving gesture such as rubbing her head and saying it in a soft tone with a smile. While in LLTG, LBY said it in a monotone voice and stoic face. Perhaps, he just needs to find a better way to communicate with CSS so that CSS isn't offended, but understand why he said what he said. I get where LBY is coming from, he deosn't know how to express himself and he's trying. If we had a mix/balance of Luo's cuteness/softness with LBY's strict regulations... I think CSS will be more accepting.

You know for the banquet scene am I the only one who felt that LBY went extra hard and savage not only to “protect”…
Also big bro Luo's wife secretly helping CSS by just saying she left her cloak in his carriage. Just slight implications and lby gets it. That's one of the reasons why I enjoy chinese period dramas.

I'm just finishing ep 25 and sigh what a breath of fresh crip air in this hot humid night. Most period dramas have ladies and gents following proper social norms, there's things they can and can't say, things they should and shouldn't do. Sometimes it can get oppressive, but LBY doesn't give a shit. He does what he wants and he doesn't care about offending anyone.Usually that that would seem egotistical and selfish to other characters in different plots/dramas, but this seems to work for LBY. When he talked back at that girl, I thoroughly enjoyed it. He's calling her out and defaming her without a care.

There's one small critique I would like Wulei to improve and it's his posture or stance. It was most evident in the beginning of ep 25 when he was talking to his "father". His arm was placed way at the back like arched wings with his back rigid straight. I know he's does this bc of his military strict background, but I think he went a bit overboard. Hopefully, after more experience he'll improve on that. If ya'll think I'm trolling him...I'm not. He's a sweet kid, but that's how I watch dramas, I analyze.

His “ ha ha ha” had me laughing so hard
Our boy is trying hard. He's out of his confort zone, poor thing. I cant wait to see the day when css accepts him bc he really lacks love and nurture

Sometimes angst is what makes the drama good. It was so popular they had the same cast and made S2 where it takes place in modern time. But I didn't watch that one. I thought it was too dramatic.

I didn't see any anti's here, perhaps there were if I scrolled down. I feel like we shouldn't be repressed from…
wb is a whole different world. They have their own system and culture. It's a celebrities livelihood also since chinese celebs promote and share their lives on wb. It's also a status thing. If the celeb's account is ban on wb then they are done for. a couple times I posted about how both actor/actress are hardworking and great bla bla bla and that we shouldn't fight each other bc it doesn't help our idols. I got told for being fake by the other side. So I gave up on trying to resolve the fanwars. Whenever it happens I try to just ignore or let it go. It hurts me since I'm not the conflict type. I'm raised better than that.

That's how immature fans are unfortunately. Master of My Own (MOMO) was originally scheduled to release on April…
I don't get cdrama culture. They love competition, they compete for everything like ratings, viewership, hype, douyin ratings, characters charts. It was once so bad that government intervened and banned some type of rating comparison. On vlinkage, there used to be top 20 actors and actresses, usually counts towards when their relevant dramas air, but that's shut down. However, a new top 20 appears and it's the top 20 characters in the drame, which essentially is the same as top 20 actors/actresses since those characters are played by those actors/actresses.They just shut down one thing and bring up a similar new thing.

What's absurd is fanwar between costars' fans. I'm flabbergasted when this keeps occuring. These type of fans are so stupid and irrational. They would start fan wars just as their idol's dramas are about to air. Why not put the hate aside and support each other for their idol's work. Their hate for each other doesn't help with the drama. Why make the collaboration awkward for their idols (i mean actors and actresses not singing idols). Like how are the costars suppose to interact and act around each other when their fans are hating each other.

I didn't watch the korean version. No version can do justice as the OG. No disrespect for the korean version. I've watched the chinese version first so it has sentimental value I guess and I know I will just keep comparing the two as I watch the korean version. Plus, the chinese version is based on historical events while the korean one can't really copy the same as they don't have the same historical events or dynasty so I feel like they change a lot of the stuff. I feel like you should give it a try since cdramas don't make timetravelling dramas like this anymore. They banned timetravelling dramas after scarlet heart. Also, seems like Qing dynasty isn't being filmed anymore...understandable since it's kinda overused and they keep doing the same 4 rulers in Qing.

I was interested in watching Immortal samsara while waiting for LLTG but the comment section over there is apparently…
That's how immature fans are unfortunately. Master of My Own (MOMO) was originally scheduled to release on April 26 and Rebirth was scheduled a couple days later than momo (both dramas were youku produced). Well, Dragon satellite tv bought the rights to air it and they wanted to air at the same time as youku so youku changed the airing date of momo to April 29 on prime time (airing daily simultaneously with tv and online platform) and so they pushed Rebirth date to earlier than scheduled. Reset, or I should say wjk's fans, were furious that their idol's drama date was changed and put in a not so good time slot. So his fans started trolling the actress in momo and the drama. They rated 1 star before the drama even aired and kept bashing on fl's looks. It was so distasteful, like why bully the actress when it's not her fault. Complain to youku instead. How is it the actress' fault that Dragon tv wanted to air her drama....and those antis were saying she had back up....yea right, if she had big back up then she wouldn't have to take 15 years to be where she is now. She has 0 back ups, she started as an independent artist and still is. All the resources she has now was from her hard work and recognition. I just don't understand why fans are like this, and this goes for LLTG also, the drama aired first and is almost done part 1, so it's not the drama or lusi's fault IS isn't doing as ideal as they have hoped. I've heard yz has a lot of antis, so what makes them so sure IS' low ratings are from lusi or LLTG's fans. it's just baseless assumptions.

Just started watching IS too. Went to their page to see discussion but looks like I shouldn't comment if I 'm…
Honestly, your not missing much with IS, this is coming from a bystander as I'm not a fan or hater of either and I do watch both of their dramas. But I will admit I wasn't fond of lusi' acting before. IS is basically AOL 2.0. The plot is so predictable, side characters are annoying. The directing and editing can do some work. I'm basically skimming scenes as a filler drama to watch. I'm able to enjoy LLTG much more and haven't dropped or skimmed any eps yet, which says a lot since I'm the master of dropping dramas left and right. There's a good balance of comedy and angst. I enjoy Lusi's small facial quirks and antics.

Why would is samsara fans especially yz fans attack lusi. I mean why???? This is just too much. Is it that they…
I didn't see any anti's here, perhaps there were if I scrolled down. I feel like we shouldn't be repressed from being opinionated on the actor/actress' acting, characters, production, storyline etc. Critiques are important for growth, and I sometimes get frustrated from fans that can't differentiate between constructive criticism and trolling. I'm not the type to talk shit on others, but I do want to voice my critiques as I like to analyze when watching dramas. I'm not talking about you specifically but in general. I'm just a passerby of lusi, and to be fair she did a great job in this drama. She kept the same cute antics, that she always does in all her dramas, but she mixed it with some angst. I think it balanced well, also the character is written well. My opinion of her has changed, and I would definitely recommend this drama to others. Samsara, on the other hand, I feel like has a lot of plot holes, which goes for most xianxa dramas. I feel like yz is type casted, I do know she took samsara out of courtesy to save the drama or else she wouldn't have taken it. But her pschologist didn't do as well as she expected, and it seems like she fairs better in period dramas, especially fantasy. I think she tried to switch routes but wasn't as successful. I definitely enjoy her in vs as she's so funny and cute. To me, lltg is the superior one.

Startling by each step (aka Scarlet Heart). My classic fave time travelling drama. Full of angst and follows historic events. Starring Liu Shishi and Nicky Wu and a bunch of other veteran actors.

Royal Nirvana is good too...Luo Jin's acting is phenomenal but man you must be physically and mentally be ready to cry every freaken scene. I had to drop it bc I couldn't continue crying.
