That's the most stupid comment ever. The whole book revolved around their intertwined romance, the last bit where ml was basically a starving puppy begging for fl's feelings to be reciprocated. I'm very much anticipating this drama bc of the romance.

Yes, but it may be for the better? Not entirely sure. But some stuff in the novel are a bit too farfetched that it won't bode well as live play, like domestic abuse from the leads...among other things. There is no rebirth, but fl's rebirth in the novel really didn't do much for the plot. Not like she was out for revenge or trying to change the events of future or past. Since it's still present time, she can't do much. Instead, her rebirth was mainly about her personality and character. How she defined herself, and her view and philosophy of life. As well, her being versed in skills that a noble lady should possess (i.e., painting, calligraphy, guzhen, bookkeeping) while identity of a maid captured ml's interest even more.

ML is a very sought after bachelor and influential official that everyone wants to curry favour, but fl wants him to stay away from her as much as possible. I'm not sure if in the drama, she will have any kind of revenge, or I guess clear her family's name. Which she never tried to do in the novel.

I'm really just interested in the leads' romance, Dream of Red Chamber style, inner court politics. I believe the maids are given more roles and importance to the drama, which I love bc the side characters will have their own story and personality, not just a NPC.

I'm surprised it's a question (not calling you out or anything). If you've watched the trailers, or seen the eps, any eligible men that's interacted with her more than once was obviously one of the men that will court her. ML is quite obvious, and his nephew (in the novel apparently he's ml's son but they changed it for it's more acceptable to societal morals), there's also her cousin, and Ye Xian

Fl is really unlucky to have these two parents. Mom is weak (I'm not even saying her being ill), she doesn't fight back and doesn't stand her grounds and so her ideology is to stay meak in an abusive relationship, she just endure for years and expects her daughter to suck it up and endure with her.

Then there's that useless selfish prick of a so called father. He's not a good husband or father, just selfish. He contradicts himself all the time. He wants to portray a self righteous, honest, humble man (have a good impressions for the public), yet his actions speak otherwise. A weak man would use his children to benefit and help his career, but a strong one would have the power to protect his children

I see. We shall see how the story unfolds

Funny, Minglan came to my mind as well. So far it's not bad, I enjoy fl sticking up for herself. It's hard in a family where the master of the household, aka her asshole dad, shows obvious disdain to her. I like that she's not afraid to fight back.

Thankfully fl can stand up for herself, bc her mom is useless. Yes, her mom is sick, but her mom has her mom's (fl's maternal granny) backing. She has no backbone in her.

I'm watching this as an idol period genre, instead of a drama that follows proper household etiquette bc a noble lady, not even of age yet, can't be so freely on a boat floating in a river drinking wine until she's drunk. That's just unheard of. With no maid to protect or serve her either. Yes, she's doted immensely by her maternal grandma, but her grandma would've had her taught proper etiquette. No hate to this drama, still early in, and I know this is just to push to plot forward

I'm here for the reverse harem

It's not low budget at all. Ofc, if compared to other actress' dramas like Yang Zi, ZLY etc can't compare. These actresses have been in the industry for decades and have marketing, tourism, and cultural influence. These actresses have actors basically begging to work with them. RenMin is still relatively a young actress, she's got her foot in the entertainment and slowly working her way up. Starting from side character, 2fl, fl as 2nd billing to ml, to equal status and then first billing fl, to main character of the whole drama. It takes time.

I'm 1min in to the first ep and I find the father shameless. even asking fl's cousin to pay for his gift on his behalf for his own daughter's coming of age ceremony. WTF, he's not even poor, just shameless

I currently have nothing interesting to watch so This is the only drama I’m looking forward. Excited that one hour I can watch

I know of this drama. But I didn’t really watch it. Watched a few scenes

She's joining as a guest bc need to choose song, prep and train and then perform so I'm assuming she'll appear for 1-2 eps. She's not doing drama bc there's no good scripts given to her, she's still reading/choosing scripts, and I guess in the meantime she can join a varity singing show. Make a few dollars, gain expereince and receive professional feedback from other singers. Maybe through this show she ccan improve her skills to a new heighten level. Joseph will also join so maybe they can collab on stage. Hoping she'll join a drama in June

My god did you guys hear she’s attending a singing variety show, The Treasured Voice. I am so surprised bc this isn’t her nature or behaviour. I thought it was just rumours since she guest in a concert. I’m so happy for her but now worried since she’s not a fully trained and skilled singer. Yes, she can sing but it’s not the powerful type to join a singing show. Eitherway, it’s exciting and I’m praying for her. But also no drama again. So it’ll be June or any drama.
