Anyone notice Jier's maid got beaten but she's fine. bc the brothel still needs to punish her in some way but can't hurt her physically since they need her to stay pretty. When ljq came to the rescue she thought he would notice her but he didn't even recognize her. It makes total sense though bc she was just a maid, and one that left 2 years ago.

A bit cliche where fl ended up but then ml wasn't the one that saved her so that's def not the same damsel in distress trope.

It's like a full circle, fl and her family suicided to escape being in the state brothel and she ends up there. I teared when Jier was stuck there for 2 years, and when she tried to make light of it that she's not a virgin anymore so it doesn't matter. I know fl will save her but just thinking she has to stay there for even a day longer hurts.

I read crown prince, I guess when reigning as king, only reigned 8months before dethroned and zhudi became king. So this drama probably merged the two reigns to make it longer or else ml technically had 8months of high before he to do what his grandpa did (retire) or retract to some province for safety or demote himself. I'm pretty sure this drama sets during Zhu Yuanzhang's era. From historical dramas I've seen he's quite formidable and kills without a second thought. FL has 0 chance to even get close to him, let alone any revenge (not that I want her to revenge, and I'me aware of Shen family's choice that they could've saved themselves)
