Exactly, the ML is cheating. No one is making excuses like - but we don't see him doing any boyfriend girlfriend things - we don't see them kissing of shagging - we don't see them affectionately looking at each other.
We know he has a GF, irrespective how we never see them doing any intimate or cute stuff & yet, we call out that behavior of ML,
on flip side, the mother cheating on her husband....is 'cute' etc etc..
regarding friendship, read what I posted. I said, you don't have the kind of friendship as shown in this drama. Men and Women who are friends have very well defined boundaries. The only woman a man would ever take out, go for walks, see stars or shows is the women he loves OR his mother. Not even sisters would fall into that category.

The women in these dramas get away with every possible activity that in the same dramas men get skewered. Be with physical beating, drinking, interactions with opposite sex, men in the same dramas would never be shown getting away with what you exactly seem to support.
A married woman doing what this woman is shown to be doing is inexcusable. What i find disturbing and sadly funny is that the husband gave her all the freedom to do anything she wants, never abused or hit her, does not nag her, control her or restrict her... BUT the need to manufacture issue to justify cheating is mind boggling.
Imagine a man finding reasons like too little sex, she is getting old, she does not cook for me, she does not look after me etc etc as reasons to waltz with girls half their age...and then other men justify that as "exploration" and "cute" and "lets see where it goes"..

ML and 2FL have shown zero affection to each other. They are supposed to be dating but we don't see an iota of affection, attraction or intimacy between them.

At first they were not. but by the middle of the drama, the drama shows that they are in love and their marriage does have meaning to them, even if it is contract based.
the ML keeps going out of his way to help the FL through out the drama & it is clear why.
the FL on the other hand though... The last straw was when she decides to help her ex when he was drunk. At least by then, their love was real and the marriage had some meaning. And the FL decides helping her drunk ex was the right move. A big NO. At that point, she was being extremely dishonest and disrespectful to her partner. Cdramas tend to keep that fine line where it's not really cheating but many of the things FL does in this drama are major red flags & needed to be called out. The FL behavior was toxic and ML was shown to be a too much of a wimp to stand up for himself.

How do writers get away writing such awful females in dramas? Look at the men? the ML, 2ML, the Villian, the men on the police force, even the lady on the police force, they make sense.

Even in civilian set up, try using that language not on superiors but your subordinates and one ends up getting fired from the job.

instead of straight up calling here out and dumping her, the drama makes ML imagine and come up with all sorts of excuses to normalize what she was doing.
Any one with iota of self respect would dump their partner, if they pulling the kind of crap FL was pulling in the drama. but self respect is not in Cdrama ML's dictionary. So, there is that.
