I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about. After he found out about his friends being betrayed, HE started…
just love how you state the ML's soldiers who were fighting with him for a long time were not really close to him...but her best friend is close to her.
Anyone who ever served in any army since middle ages can immediately tell how wrong you are.
Soldiers who fight together are like brothers. These guys live and die for each other. There really is no relation outside of real family that comes remotely close.
As her friend was important to her, his men are as equally important to him.

in ep 15, the FL was angry at being treated unjustly, at least in her own eyes, being targeted by the ML. There was not an iota of passiveness from her in ep15. It was confrontational, the tone, the body language and eventually led to fight. Point is, she stood up for what she believed was right. She did not roll over and offer her dignity to ML.
She then learns of what her best friend did and how his actions screwed over ML and his own men.
What does she do? nothing.

LOL @ expecting the ML to help her and her men after getting royally betrayed by them.
You expect ML to ask his men to help those that betrayed them and resulted in their deaths?
He had no obligation to help, especially considering the betrayal. Any leader would do the same. Who knows if his men would be betrayed again.
Even what he did to help FL was bordering on mutiny in his mens eyes.

Rich saying the person who loves you did not help save your friend.
especially knowing that friend screwed your lover and caused his own mens death.
Her mourning is somehow more important than ML's mourning.
her friend betraying the ML and causing his mens deaths are somehow not even an issue but she gets upset that ML would not risk his men to help save her friend.

The ML did not let him die. He did not force them into the situation. He did not ask them to fight. He did nothing. He is NOT their leader. He is leader to his own, who were just betrayed by her and were killed in process.

Leadership does not offer lot of leeway.
FL being a leader is responsible for what her friend did. Worse, even after knowing what he did, she pretends it's all great and rolls with him
but ML should risk his leadership to help people who betrayed him and got his people killed.

There is no hate against the FL.
Just pointing that ML is a spineless simp.
the FL is strong, modern, has clear goals and loves her friends. Clearly they are more important to her than the ML.
the ML just forgot that her team killed his own team members and rolled on his back and offered it to Fl.
nothing to hate about FL really. Even after knowing the shit her friend did, she still did not let him go or discipline him. She still loved him, protected him and even let her rage on ML, even when he was clearly not in fault of his death.
What did the ML do when his own men died? just did bit of sword play and everything is forgotten...

It's the ML that is a wimp.

Lastly, the FL friend betrayed ML and caused his men's death.
He used them and caused their deaths.
If Ml sought him out and killed him, that would have been justified. the FL even then is no position to be angry at ML. he just got revenge for his men.
but the hilarious logic here is that ML should help the guy who caused deaths of his men & the FL is justified in her anger of not helping to save him.

C dramas tend to drive ml as being either too perfect or a jerk, while fl is written much more realistic. Takes…
lol, nothing better to do I guess. That's why I keep watching cdramas and kdramas.

All you said is true & because it is true, it is necessary to point these out, even if means doing it in each and every drama.

Interesting you bring out ALP, yes, the ML hurts the FL and as viewers we understand 'why' and can understand the logic behind what he was doing, no matter how futile it was. A desperate act of a man in love. The drama never lets viewers not know how much the ML loves the FL.
The opposite of this is 'Love and redemption'. The FL hurts the ML in that one but it completely makes logical sense due to the way FL is.

Idea is to make the characters consistent and believable.
in this drama or She and her perfect husband, the characters are not consistent.

Well, to be fair, the ML is much much better in this one than in She and her husband,
Until ep16, he held his own and I absolutely liked the drama and still do to some extent but 16 basically brought out the worst cdrama tropes that are character killer.

If we are watching Kdramas and Cdramas, this is the most logical place to be and rant.
Where else can our voice of letting the world know that the writers are on drugs when writing this, be heard?

Ep 15, ML loses his friends due to FL. Even thought it was her friend who is responsible, she being in leadership role has the final responsibility.
How does FL treat the grieving ML who lost his friends? She fights him.
Even after all that the ML keeps an eye and proceeds to saver her.

Ep 16, FL loses her friend. All due to their own making, no fault to ML.
She then proceeds to lash out at ML, who lies down and offers his backside to the FL, even though he was not responsible for the death and even saved her.

Disappointing really.

Disagree completely.

Watch start of Ep15, ML loses his people just like how FL lost her friend in ep16.

Now, how did the start of ep15 go?
Instead of understanding ML is grieving, she ends up fighting him. She then comes to know her friend was behind the whole mess. What does she do? Nothing.
Even when ML was right in being angry at her in Ep15, she still defends herself and fights for herself.

when the exact same thing happens in reverse in ep16, the ML basically prostrates before the FL and becomes a doormat, even though he was no way responsible for her friends death, unlike her being responsible for his mates death in ep15.

If grieving needs understanding, why would the FL not understand it in ep15 when ML was grieving?
And why would the FL never reach out to ML after finding out her childhood friend screwed her and the ML? She should have begged for forgiveness, simply by being in position of leadership.

The two exact scenarios in 2 different episodes are shown exactly opposite. the FL defends herself and her honor in ep15.
the ML lays down and offers his honor to be trampled in ep16.

Her grieving was never the issue.
All the other things she said and did were.

Her lashing out can even considered as part of healing process.

ML's actions though don't make sense. No matter how much one is grieving, there are things that should not be crossed and things that should not be said.
And if some one says hurtful things, it is incumbent upon them to reach out and apologize.
but here, that does not happen. Hence the flow of drama does not make sense - unless the ML is a top tier simp.

dear, if you are married or in a relationship, try telling your partner that the boy/girl who has been friends with you since childhood is dead and you wish you were dead as well.
And add few angry words, insults etc etc..taking your anger out on your partner..

See how that would end in real life.

if you are male, I would assure you that your gf would dump you 10 seconds into the tantrum.

Cdrama running theme in every drama is that ML must sacrifice his goals, ambitions, family, friends etc etc for FL.
on other hand, for the FL, the ML would not even be in top 10 of her priorities.

And the male childhood friend for FL, such an over-used cliche.
never has in Cdrama history did any ML have that kind of a childhood female friend.

the harem theme in Cdrmas is so overt, it just leaves a bad taste when you see ML not even standing up for himself.

the first instance in ep16 when FL treats ML badly should have been the instance she got dumped.
Only after she comes back her senses, crawls back and asks for forgiveness should the ML even think of giving her another chance - instead, we get to see a simpy Joe catering to the tantrums of Mary Sue.

Just when you think the drama is decent, ep 16 happens.

looking at the mindless tantrums of FL, the logical thing anyone would do just flip a finger and go on their way.

but like all Cdramas the ML turns into a simp for the FL after he falls in love.
Even watching ML in ep 16 was cringe. A spineless doormat, like every other ML in cdramas.

What is the full form of swdbs?

you are right though.
Have not seen any recent Kdramas where the ML shows any attraction to any woman other than the FL.
The FL's on the other hand are regular girls who have crushes, boyfriends and male friends with life filled with flirtings and interactions.

Just imagine the ML projected in this drama.
very hand some and very rich.
if this was real life, this kind of a man would be dating since his high school.
In Uni, this kind of a guy would have had casual relations with most of the girls in the uni.

Even for story sake, if none of that is shown, at least show that guy having been attracted to other girls!

It's as if the writers have never met a man.
if they indeed ever interacted with a man, they would never write a man like how they do in these dramas.
Do these writers write these kind of men with a straight face and sell it to their audience?!
Have they ever met a 16 year old boy? if they did, these writers would know how fake their ML's are....evry 16 year old would be thinking about sex all the time.

The only way to make one understand how fake these ML's are to ask them to imagine a FL who has her first period at the age of 30, after she falls in love with the ML.

Was he really that awful? The fact that a trespasser who insists on destroying a place your family holds dear is…
You can definitely have it.
You can also have more toxicity as well.

I mean, it's a drama. They should be taking as many liberties when developing the characters and story.

As long as the viewers are shown a toxic ML or FL as being toxic, it is fine.

As example, if the ML was beating the shit out FL and the drama shows it in funny way and makes the ML looks cool - then yeah, it's not alright.
Kdrama 'Strangers Again', the FL is absolutely toxic. She physically and verbally abuses the ML, the drama makes it look funny and the ML deserved it. It was so over the top and frankly was uncomfortable. If the ML ever did anything remotely similar to FL, we would be telling the FL to run.
This drama ML or FL are no where near as toxic as the FL in 'Strangers Again'.

Characterization needs to be consistent.
If all characters in drama are good, then we will be seeing a lot of boring dramas.

There is nothing wrong in having a toxic person as long that's how they come across and the journey makes sense.

it's accurate though.

The ML's don't even sully their eyes by looking at any other woman except the FL.
It would be a great disservice to the FL if the handsome CEO ever laid his eyes on another woman.

the monkey at the zoo can write better stories than Kdrama romance writers.

average Kdrama romance.
nothing special or new.

We have seen the same FL in dozen other Kdramas in last 6 months.
the one with an ex-bf, popular with men, free spirited etc etc

The same ML is every Kdrama romance.
Rich, extremely handsome, well educated. Also has good dose of mental issues and impotency, which renders him incapable of even looking at girls, until he meets the FL.

After lot of fluff, the ML's mental issues are resolved, so does his impotency, which finally results in the guy having his first relationship at tender age of 30, even though he is very rich, very capable and very handsome.

It's already 2023 the love triangle should be outdated, time for every character to have a pair and not just a…
not love interests but genuine female friends of ML.

In most cdramas, the FL is good friends with lot of men. They are friends and some of them form part of love triangle. still, the FL has good friendly interactions with them.

the ML's on the other hand does not seem to have a female dog around them in Cdramas.
it's time cdramas become a little real and show ML in some dramas being good friends with females, just like how in every drama FL is friends with males.

Cdramas should start showing ML being friends with other women than the FL.
It's unnatural how these ML's don't have any woman friends, like how the FL has men friends.

It would have added to the dynamic if FL were to see ML caring for his female friend and having friendly, normal interactions with her.

Alas, Cdramas never ever show ML having any female friends.

Typical Cdrama romance crap starring Mary Sue as the FL and Simpy Joe as the ML.
