ML did not hurt FL. He was there for her during her trial. The whole point of the trial was suffering. She was destined to go through the pain to ascend and gain power. During that trial, the ML stayed with her and he himself suffered because of being with her.
In the end, she gained power, dumped him and their kid as if they were used toilet paper.
Couldn't really understand why the ML was kneeling at the end. If anyone was to kneel and crawl for forgiveness, it was the FL for her horrible choices towards ML and their child.
Imagine if a man dumped his wife and their child to go and save some other woman. he would never be forgiven. but the FL here is so Mary Sue that anything she does is great.
The idea that the guy who was treated like crap by his wife, suffered incredibly, still being dedicated to her while the wife did not care who she shagged as long as her goals were met - is so out there...

Problem with kdramas is that the FL's are bit normal. They are attracted to guys, they have sexual urges when they look at good looking guys. It's not as real as the real world but it reflects.
The ML's though....each and every one of them is absolute fake. There is not a single man on this earth that is like these ML's. I mean it, there won't a single man on this earth who will look at the ML and think...I know guys like that.
Anyone who has interacted with a single young man, ever, in their life would immediately tell you these ML's are absolutely fake. All men, especially young ones are horn dogs. They seem boobs, they are going for them. They don't particularly care who those boobs belong to.....each and every boy who hits puberty is like that. At that age they are limited by their options, that's it. If they get a chance with a girl, they are grabbing it, with both hands, without a single other thought.
The dramas don't need to show their ML that realistic but boy, the complete neutering of ML's sexuality is a sight to behold. I really can't believe the writers can write this crap, the director going along with it and the men acting this crap with a straight face.

ML is a 'corrupt' policeman but the way he behaves is not that of a shrieking banshee. Neither do any other police in the drama behave that way. It is unique to the FL.
Any job comes with certain traits. The common trait of a policeman is one who has a calm public demeanor. They are basically trained and taught that aspect until it becomes second nature to them. It is ok to lose cool now and then blow off for dramatic effect, but when the default mode of the FL is that of a banshee, then there is problem with writing.
