It's about ML reaction and interaction to girls - you can be attracted to girls, react to girls and have crush on them without dating them. Well, ML has none of them, in fact his reaction & interactions to girls are bizarre and not something a straight guy would do.

you just made my case for why FL should have ignored her ex. If ML did it not to give false hope, the FL should as well. Whether that ex is drunk or not is moot. He was doing fine for years getting drunk by himself. he did not need the FL to babysit him and take him around drunk. Again, it's a trope used by the author to show how cool the FL lead but frankly girls like that come across as a bit stupid.
And the drama has ML and FL dating while they are still professional players, competing for championship at the highest level. The author uses that professional players as a trope to say why dating is not preferable & then does a 180 degree turn to have the leads dating.
ML has a law degree, he has been to a college, high school etc. We don't see anything from POV regarding the women in his life that led to his decision to his dating preferences. We do see FL POV as to why she reached her decision regarding her ex and the current love interest. So, lack of any POV from ML & the flash back of his is with his Korean male buddy makes the whole thing ridiculous.
That's why the point of ML being a Eunuch or reaching Puberty when he meets the FL. It's not me saying it, it's the Author of his drama who is saying it by how they designed the ML.

I mentioned FL being 'bit of' Mary Sue, a tiny bit. It came across as that, probably because she was very sweet most of the time and had many guys falling for her. Would have preferred a character which could have grown more.
First, e-sports players or any professional players being too busy for dating or romance is not how real life works. In fact these professional players have significantly more interactions with opposite sex and greater chances of romance than normal people. Second, the writer is the one who shows the ML as how described him. Very cold to girls, which is very abnormal for a guy of his age. The way he mistreats his blind date was not normal. The whole avoiding of eye contact, normal physical contact & decent interactions with girls is not normal either. Third, his flash back is his romance with a guy from his old team. These characteristics were introduced by the writer for ML, even monks show more reaction to girls. ML was like that until he meets the FL - which frankly is absurd, unless there is some other reason. He has tremendous character growth after he meets the FL, he becomes a normal man. Eunuch and puberty were used by me to show the absurdity of a guy in mid twenties, famous, good looking, successful having ZERO positive female presence in his life until he meets the FL.
Regarding how FL treats his ex, sorry, no, you don't do that unless you are looking to give some false hope. Exactly how that ex took it for a while. I guess the writer wanted to make the FL as sweet and cool but that was the wrong way to go about it.

Only negatives not a by lot though, were the leads. FL was a bit of Mary Sue. And the way she and her friend were measuring guys on looks seemed outdated. Imagine a drama if the ML was doing the same about girls with his buddies. ML fared a lot better, he had a lot of character growth. Starts off as a Eunuch, hits puberty after seeing FL, falls in love, wins a championship, faces crisis of confidence and overcomes it. Really liked how mercilessly he dealt with other girls trying to hit on him, unlike the FL who would go off running to her drunk ex to comfort him.
It's impossible to imagine a worse ML than the guy in this drama,
Absolutely no self esteem, cuckold, clingy, whiny and devoid of any kind of backbone. There is no character growth for the ML, well, unless one considers he gets to shag a girl finally.
That sounds even more lovey dovey, which does not fit the story line of this series. Why would a drama about a woman whose sole aim in the story was to save her master be named as such?
Feel a little bad for ziqian in the end but overall this drama was cute .You can give it a try

At this point it turned from a high school drama to a full blown Harem. At one point all the 3 guys and the FL were in a house & the only thing missing was an orgy.
The FL until that point was so smart turned into a complete idiot and could not understand why the 3 guys were doing what they were doing.
Drama is still watchable because of strong characters but it could have a gem if the drama did not have the 3ML.
The drama was good except for the FL. Have no idea why most Cdramas have such stinker of FL.
This girl is a doctor, who had a serious relationship with a guy who takes naked baths with his GF. But we are supposed to believe that she does not know why the 2ML is touching, grabbing her and caressing her.

Second that, ALP is for me the best of it's genre. LAR is a close second. AOL is a little down the list.
Reason is simple, ALP has literally no love triangle, it's just about the two people and their trials to be together. The whole drama focused on the leads and their story. LAR, the redemption arc is so damned good. Love triangle was a side plot and not in your face. AOL has a huge love triangle that goes on forever and in your face.
Wow, the FL is written so good. Please watching such a nice character.
Episode 6 is gem. When ML starts reading the English Essay, the FL lead expression ia priceless. It's like she is saying "did I just fall in love with a dumbass"..

The writers may have have wanted to show him as a friend in the last episode or two but I don't buy it. 2ML is too invested in her things to be just a friend. To contrast it, 2ML is friends with the sister for far too longer than he is with FL. How many times do you see 2ML care for the sister likewise?
If it is friendship he values, you don't see similar investment from him in his other friends. That is the reason the writers come across as piss poor.
There isn't a therapist in the world who can cure Duan Yu's trauma.
Poor guy, every girl he touches is turning into his sister.
