Just few examples - She gets attacked, almost dies and fortunately saved. Guess what she does, goes alone at night to search for the guy who saved her. My mouth was open in disbelief watching it unfold. - Her "friend" asks her to come to cave at night, to forests, to places, keeps touching, grabbing and fondling her - she does not realize why. I mean, you must be the dumbest tool in the box to not realize why a guy is doing that. After the 100th time he is touching you, it's not rocket science to realize what's happening. - Her "friend" friend has a tattoo similar to the ones on the guys who tried to kill her. She never once tries to confront her "friend" with that fact. This guy is practically with her most of the time & yet FL does not for a single moment want to think what her "friend" is doing with her. - Almost every dangerous situation she is in, it is self inflicted. Fact that she does not realize it after 100th time she gets into trouble is really out there.
The writer/director is probably going with strong girl story line but unfortunately they have turned the FL into worse than dumb. A strong person is NOT one who rushes swinging sword but one who uses their brain. The FL until 18th episode has not used her brain even once.
Story is the same as every other Romance Cdrama, which follows predictable below pattern. - Fl is dumb. - ML & other men fighting for the FL. looks like girls love it when guys fight for them - FL will always have a "brother" or male friend, who has been in love with her since her birth. - ML & other men semi nude, bathing, swimming etc, obviously for horny females. - Romantic & intimate moments between FL & various men in the drama. 2ML, brother & her male friend will be grabbing the FL at every opportunity they get. The FL at this point is so dense that she does not realize these men keep grabbing, touching and fondling her with a smile on their face. - ML will never have any romantic & intimate moments with any girl other than FL. he needs to stay pure both physically and mentally for only the FL. In some dramas the ML does not even look at other girls, let alone have interactions with them. - Once the ML falls for the FL, he turns into a complete simp. His while world now revolves around the FL, he would have no life & thoughts outside the FL. - 2FL will almost always be a colossal bitch. We can't have anyone liking her unlike the 2ML and other men around the FL who we can swoon over. - misunderstandings and situations created where the ML & FL get separated & the FL is forced to be with other men before getting back to ML.
Most Cdramas follow the above formulae and this is one is same. Pretty entertaining stuff though.

In all the above situations, these dramas depict as if it it's the norm and 'passing out' drinking is not a big deal, where as it is a big deal if you are regularly out of your rockers binging.
Alcohol is absolutely fatal in many ways if excessively consumed. Cdramas and Kdramas practically celebrate drinking culture (not talking about pubbing here) even when people are knocked out of their brains. Worse in these dramas the parents bring hangover soup - instead of having a nice chat about responsible drinking.
As an example, if my boss or business partner, friends or elder forces me to drink, there will be consequences. In these dramas all these situations play out without any real consequences to people in power forcing others to drink.
That is the reason I asked if what is depicted in dramas happens in real life.

There is nothing more satisfying than a man chasing the girl he loves. It ticks all the boxes to make a swoon worthy romance.
In this, the FL is chasing the ML and right off the bat, there is a bit of sadness on how tough the girl has it while chasing the guy she likes. If Nirvana on Fire is a gem, the current crop of Cdramas are Pile of Crap.
It's rare to find a drama as good as Nirvana on Fire anywhere. It shined because it was NOT a romance drama. I am pretty convinced at this point Cdrama writers are pretty bad at doing romance dramas barring few exceptional dramas here and there.
Most Cdrama romance dramas end up being a cringy crap fest & times it gets so bad that that you might mistake the plot lines being copied from Jerrry Springer show. Had misfortune of watching a drama called Dr Cutie. By the end you could rename the drama as 'My girlfriend stabbed me and ran off with my brother'.
A minor gripe around the whole abortion thing. Not debating the issues the around abortion but dad has the right to know. Finding it later would be a relationship killer for sure.

It is probably sells for female viewers who want to watch a normal girl tame a very successful/powerful/highly educated Alpha male and become his only weakness. These sort of story lines are what most romances are based upon since the target audiences relish these ones.
All Cdramas have Male Lead with some of these characteristics but introduce fatal weaknesses. The Male leads are neutered at the altar to flesh out the FL. The Cdrama Male Leads are never Alphas to begin with & after meeting the FL they turn into Cuckold and simp the FL to the extent you begin to wonder WTF you are watching.
Sorry to say but Kdrama Romances tend to have much better and well rounded characters. If only Cdramas spend more money on stories than repeat the same shitty ML and FL in each and every drama.

I would have liked this drama if the ML and FL did not end up together and ended up with some one else. They had a beautiful friendship and that was enough to make the drama pretty good without the horrendous last few episodes.
Leads don't need to reciprocate feelings for a drama to be good. This drama had bad few episodes at the end in spite of the fact that the leads got together.
