Just to correct - I am not saying he encouraged him by words but encouraged him by her actions. There are numerous situations where she could have stayed away from him but chose not to. Every time he got drunk, it was not her concern to go to him. There is rejection by words but her care/concern for him gives him a different picture. This is where I was comparing how the ML handled similar situation in first episode from his co-worker.

Imagine in these dramas if the FL did not exist, what would you think about ML? Yeah, a Eunuch :) FL are much better written in dramas. Even without ML in the drama, they shine and their story is interesting.
Have watched few Cdramas this year and unfortunately the ML's were written poorly. In fact in all these dramas, the ML come across as carbon copies. They behave the same way in every drama. You start a new Cdrama and you know how the ML is going to be.
It's like some one made a template and distributed it to the writers as how the ML must be.
