men like the ML shown in this drama who are handsome, rich and successful would be swimming in hot women. If this ML was real, he would have shagged hundreds of women at his age.
And men like them don't need to even try to get women. Between the time they get up and go to sleep in a day, there would be dozens of women who would throw themselves at them. All this ML had to decide is pick which woman to shag at what time.
LOL, even these dramas show women swooning at the ML's.

It's the normal men who are average looking or poor or not successful who struggle to get women and remain single - IT'S NOT BY CHOICE.

This drama has a 30 year old ML, who is super handsome, rich and successful and we don't even get a peep of him liking any women ever or had relationships. And at the same time we get Fl and her lovers interactions throughout the drama.
Just say we like our ML pure and virgins & at the same time we want the FL to have as many lovers as possible. I can accept that and even respect it.

Lastly, it's not just Xu Kai dramas I comment on. I comment on any Kdrama and Cdrama with this trope, which is every romance drama now a days.
Xu Kai unfortunately has been choosing absolutely shit dramas last few years.
In fact, Xu Kai has another drama currently airing. His role in that is a pure virgin ML and the FL has a boyfriend for half of the drama and their love life plays out in front of Xu Kai, just like this drama.
Talk about same shit being shown in each and every drama, As viewers we should be outraged.

I reiterate my view that this drama is an absolute shit show.

Having been a movie and drama buff for decades and having watched movies and dramas made in US, UK, Asia and some European ones as well, there are some very basic fundamentals to any movie/drama.

The story has been interesting.
The story telling aka screen-play has to be done well.
The acting needs to be top notch.

The most important part, even above all the 3 points above is creating interesting characters and the most important ones in these kinds of dramas are the ML and the FL. We as viewers need to care about them, invested in them and get surprised at the journey of these characters.

the reason why this drama and most romance centered Kdramas and Cdramas have become shit shows is because the ML is 99% of time a pure virgin & the FL has lovers and love interests. That is your ML and FL in most dramas. There is no variation, no suspense, no character surprise, no growth. You know exactly where the ML and FL start and where they end up even before you watch the first episode.
There are over 100 Kdramas and Cdramas in last 3 years with ML as CEO or wealthy scion. Not a single one of these ML's casually dated women. Not a single one of these ML looked at a random beautiful girl with lust in his eyes. At this point you see these fake virgin ML's rinse and repeated in each and every drama and you must admit it;s an absolute shit show and nothing else.

LOL, Xu Kai has another drama airing currently.
Even in that he is a pure virgin ML
the FL has boyfriend for portion of drama and their romance plays out in front of ML....you know...same shit...
In fact, the last 4-5 Xu Kai are pretty much him playing the same virgin ML and the FL is...

With FL, we get to see her love life with another man for most of the drama,.

if ML had a fling or even liked any girl, the drama should show it, just like how it takes time to show FL's love life with other men.

I have not read the novel and if the ML in novel indeed had sex with other women, it would take the director of the drama 5 minutes to establish the same in the drama,

the fact that the writer and director does not show what is the novel makes the whole bullshit drama even worse.

In the drama, there is not even a hint of him even liking any other girl in his life except the FL.

If they can show FL's love life with another man, in detail for dozens of episodes, they can show ML love life other woman as well.

Since they did not, assuming he had some lovers in past does not many sense

Then explain the pattern in both Cdramas and Kdramas, in most of them, it's always the FL with boyfriends and ML has never dated and in some he does not even look at any women, except FL.

Since purity and virginity of ML matters in these dramas, the Ml is projected that way.

You should be asking that question to makers of these shitty Kdramas and Cdramas as to why the FL always have boyfriends, male friends and lovers, while the Ml is always a pure virgin - especially as per you, it does not matter.

It obviously is a humongous deal in Cdramas and Kdramas that ML needs to save his virginity for FL, Not just virginity, his purity as well, he does not ever look at other women in his whole life.

Xu Kai is one of my top 3 cdrama ML's but his choice of dramas in last 3 years have been horrendous.
in many of these dramas he is mostly a supporting cast barely there in many episodes.

She basically dumps the ML, their child to become a god. excuse is trauma.
Then she moves on to another man, who luckily happens to be the ML. She did not care who it was as long as that man caters to her needs.
The ML on other hand never looks at another woman, takes care of their child.
The ML also does incredible things for her dozens of times and eventually dies saving her, she does exactly ZERO things for ML.

but, in last few episodes, it is the ML who kneels in front of her home for days to apologize for god knows what. the drama never makes it clear. And the FL sits inside her home and is angry, god knows for what..

Anyone who watched the drama can clearly see ML absolutely dedicated to 2 people in the drama, the FL and their son.
The FL on the hand has dozen more important people than ML and dozen more important things to do than catering to ML.

in fact for FL the ML was just a sex buddy and nothing more. She had other men in her life both as lovers and as buddies.

Yet another Kdrama and yet another harem for the FL.

This drama would have been superfine without the usual Kdrama BS of having multiple men for the FL.

It's a having a superb 7 course menu for dinner and the sauce for the stake is loose shit.

She is not criticized for what went through as a mortal.
She was destined to suffer, pulled ML into her suffering and he suffered along with her.
It was not her fault but destiny's.

Her faults are many and all are when she is in form of a god.

ML actions were never selfish. If they were, he would have given up on a selfish woman long ago, instead of mourning and waiting for her.
