It took me more than a year to finish this (I was a little too persuasive when I tried not to watch 6FD and this side to side to avoid spoilers and Jang Hyuk isn't my favourite actor...), but it was so worth it. A high quality drama. Great photography and writting. Maybe a little too much lenghty flashbacks towards the end and I could live without those two sidekicks from the guard and their antics, but all important plotlines stayed relevant until the end, so I'm satisfied. Even irritating characters were essential, as they provided with counterlines and acted as catalysts. More a battle of thoughts than pure power struggles. I had goosebumps when they were discussing writting system. Who would have thought.

The title fooled me and I bet on a wrong ship. I think I'm going to disregard everything we've been told about Kim Il Ri and pretend it ends differently.
Quite well written (for a melo). It has those bits that only happen in character's head and then rewind and every single time I fall for this.

It's fun even if sometimes lacks fluidity (the transitions are very random). More comedy then romance for now. I wish they were airing more than 10 minutes per week (7,5 minutes minus credits and a tiny Korean lesson at the end).
And Hyungwon is so cool.

because it's harder to write a negative review. You have to finish a drama you dislike while taking notes in your head to make valid points and not just rant. Yet dropping something and/or rating it low is a matter of seconds. Hence reviews with high rates and not so high average (but 7,8 is still a decent score in my book).

she doesn't go to jail.
She's a suspect, but due to victim's father meddling with the evidence, the case fails and she walks away free. She can't be prosecuted again unless a strong evidence pointing her as a murderer comes to light. The real perpetrator isn't revealed yet.

I'd rather describe it as quirky and sassy than fluffy. I think it blends comedic tones with crime way better than one recent drama that shall not be named.

Casting him as a better part of male cast seems like a desperate move to save a drama from being hijacked by the second lead, but I'm in.

since they air back to back it makes no difference for now other than chaos on streaming sites and in the comments.

Ok, but I hope we're in an agreement that 'boombastic' trailer adds at least two stars for the rating. Best trailer ever.

anyone else has troubles with the pacing? I like it and when I have a good day for watching this, I watch several episodes in a row, but sometimes just can't get into this. It's like swimming in molasses. Instead of filling episodes with non-events and going back and forth, it develops like it had all the time in the world. It's generous. It lingers. Idk.

Like the actor is not good enough for main roles or he doesn't match the character? I don't have a problem with him other than struggling to unsee him as a vampire from http://mydramalist.com/21024-the-journey . I keep expecting him to throw himself at people with his jaws wide open. And his hair, obviously.

Oh, I tought it was just cut in half to put some election coverage in between or something. Why are they doing this? Is it related to some advertisment regulations? Because the drama still last 60 minutes and it's written like a 60 minutes episode, just mechanically cut to abide the rules... I wonder how it influence future dramas.

He had to die to fulfill the prophecy /face reading thing (one has a face of a great king, the other dies at a young age + switched caps). Or rather to prove the point that Minister Kim fulfilled it for him.
But I wouldn't mind if both he and Crown Princess found a happier ending. I liked that one though. It'd be boring to see everyone paired. They went their own ways.
And Ra On had much more freedom outside the palace. Wasn't everything heading towards making her the next Queen, with Jo Ha Yeon willingly going away though?

Is it worth watching for Kwak Dong Yeon?

So glad I pushed mysfel through the end. I was stuck around ep 13-15 for months, but now the details are blurred and I don't remember what bothered me then. How something so fluffy and fun turned so heavy in the last part? Go figure. But the angst was always there, so it's not like a rapid tonal shift.
I can't believe a prince so cunning took so much time to realise his favourite eunuch is a girl, but I guess we had to have an obligatory 'alien or whatever' line. So much angst and forced separations, both 2nd leads so pitiful, but I don't mind it all because all main characters are so precious. And everyone is so ethereally beautiful.
I cried when Minister Kim died, he from all the people. No idea why. I was probably teary since earlier eps.
I wish the king died too. Sorrynotsorry.
Production values - off the roof. Everything matches so perfectly and is so well executed, it makes watching older dramas painful.

MCs personalities seem vastly different. Unability to fight is related to his illness, he was a fighter before. I don't see the revenge part neither.
Now I'm confused again, are you asking seriously which is a rip-off? Because one is REWRITTEN with only changing one of the main character's sex, the other shares some common plot points typical for those kind of stories.

is it his real name though? perhaps it's just a place holder, and he's a lookalike of the prince? (I know they aren't very similar, but from the posters it looks there will be a prince-beggar switch at some point)
