at ep3, but the lead caused a woman to be beaten and raped. you may say he just told the truth but he is an adult man from our time, how much naivety should be attribute him? imo he has no excuse. what happened in the modern timeline certainly doesnt justify or excuse it. its not proportional.
was it supposed to be obvious for the watcher who ke xing is?
to be honest im not sure im even correct. but i guessed at ep 2 and there seemed to be forwarding all throughout since (im at ep4 writing this). maybe im going through confirmation bias lol
Dropped it before I got to part two a yr ago should I rewatch does it get better?
this is a tour de force in terms of writing and acting for the female lead. the romance is only truly kicking in in part two. but it benefits tremendously form what part one establishes.
if all that sounds good to you sure. if you want lots and lots of romantic moments and swoony scenes it’s probably not going to hook you.
I'm a bit unsure if he took the dog for 6 years cause he says that San Lai sent the dog to him instead of Jiang…
ok thats a relief. i still think san lai is ridiculous. isnt he the “fuck for your own good shit” character? why is he just sending it to zhao and not calling mu first. i can already imagine its some sort of getting them back to eachother ploy but as you can tell I’ve become less willing to excuse stuff like that.
im hopeful they manage to stick the landing.
btw no i have not read the novel. is there an official translation or just fan translation?

ok my bad winnie i think i was too distressed that my previously 10/10 drama was in freefall. i didnt understand you, im sorry.
i think im not there yet. and if thats how it is, and they just find the exact same dog 6 years later randomly in China after it being lost in Thailand, then i admit thata better, even if its a fairytale in of itself. ill take it and say thank you, since its better than what i thought happened. because it seemed too far fetched i never assumed the dog plot couldve gone that way.

i also understand that. but then you look at the details and realize its actually just zhao being unable to cope with not being seen as the best. ok maybe thats just me tho. i understand, truly, the “for your own good” inpulse, but its destructive. im also older, in my 30s now and just need female characters that arent saintly in their tolerance, patience and devotion. thats can work, but they didnt write it so that it does.

she came back for the dog 6 years ago, and san lai told her he ran away. all in a ploy to give it to zhao. nothing can justify this. she had to grieve and be heartbroken for the dog too. why? cos zhao is the most self serving idiot in the planet who love her but somehow is willing to put her thrown waves of heartbreak, grielf, abandonment and have her family lie to her face for years ALL SO HE COULD SET UP SHIT SO HE FEELS BETTER AND FEELS LIKE HE DID A ROMANTIC THING in the end. 6 years of suffering, of not knowing… im clearly the outlier and most love this and think its romantic, but i would spit in his face once i saw him again. how condescending, infantilizing and disrespectful his decision since (and including) the separation have been.
im so mad, im the only one but… even the dog?! he took even the dog from her?! for 6 years?! that dog is at the end third of his entire life now. and all without mu.
they all completely betrayed mu, and zhao got his every fucking selfish self centered wish and even THE DOG? how much heartbreak is mu suppsed to be put through just cos you cannot bear to be seen a a burden?? i started giving this a 10, now its dropping in my esteem by the minute.
Im at ep21I just dont understand how Mu could not have been in her own version of female rage for the utter distrust,…
chineae media always seems to focus on the upside of having done a “for your own good” thing. but all bad things have upside and all good things have downsides.
