Tell me you’ve never watched Taste or Never Let Me Go without telling me lol. yall really watch one scene of…

its funny to me when they write a “badass” female character and dont properly show how harsh that time period…
yeah my love for fantasy books is how it all started

oh mine is very cgi heavy lol. to me as a fantasy lover in general id rather cgi be at 80% and get more of it than at 100% and barely get a sprinkle like in western fantasy so i REALLLY appreciate cdramas for this 😆

well i also was disappointed with all 3 you mentioned and dropped blossom at ep 14. i loved fated hearts and prisoner of beauty. its not certain but our tastes seems to overlap somewhat.

id say cdramas have better everything in historicals and fantasy, and kdramas master modern ones. you might feel differently idk

but i think mo li is worth a shot. not if you expect it to be flawless, but what is? mo li isnt romance first tho, so thats something to keep in mind.

the most swoony one ive ever seen was Moonlight Mystique. again, its not flawless, but its my favorite cdrama because it tapped into something very subjective in my heart. there are better ones among my favorites but MM i could rewatch endlessly. (i prefer fantasy to pure historical but love both)

the last jasmine doesnt fall off the same way for instance pursuit of jade does in its latter half.
there are flaws to the last jasmine but if you love a complex plot with complex well crafted characters i do recommend it. it has a low-key approach so it takes a while to notice things arent what they seem generally. its flawed but great.

do you like historicals with mystery and revenge that are extremely well acted and quite well written?

this was truly great! some flaws that will bother some more than others.

i dinged it a bit for what seems like some AI use.

(all i can do is sigh to that, i wonder where such things will take us. i cannot guarantee if i knew they’d used Ai i wouldve eveb started this. my feelings on this are extremely conflicted because otherwise this was great)

There was discussions that fake nails existed back then. It’s buried from days ago
that helps a bit, but modern techniques are obvious to my eye and a struggle. perhaps its just me

BaiLu has chemistry with everyone. You should watch The Legend, those kisses were passionate. Specially the ones…
well we have to disagree because i feel kissing should be a sync activity inherently to come across believably, because it is so irl, no matter how mature or mild or restrained the solve is. i dont need them to get closer, or have deep kisses, or do anything extra. i just think their tiny movements during the kiss shouldnt seem so disjointed.

but id better off if i didnt notice or cared about such things, after all they arent paramount to enjoying the story.

Because it's airing on CCTV, a national television in China, their kiss is just like that. But anyway, it's still…
this helps me understand why there’s such a discrepancy, thank you so much

Kissing is hard. Also, I feel like sizzling hot kisses would be out of character for them and their relationship…
i agree, its hard. and i in no way meant steamy kisses. i meant just rythm sync. they dont have it so it comes across more pretendy than ideal

As someone mentions above, if you want to watch dramas with good kiss scenes in general, look for webdramas. Anything…
no you misunderstood. i dont want steamy kisses. i want the actors to have the same rythim tho. unfortunately here they dont so it looks more like pretending than if they did kiss in the same rythm. you know, modest kissing but in sync

Hm. I find their kisses sweet. 😊
well did you notice at least that it doesnt have the rhythm sync, cos i also think they are sweet and dont expect anything steamy dont get me wrong but they dont have the same rythm when they kiss so it looks a but well, like they are pretending

ohhh is that it? did moonlight mystique not air on tv then? is this what always happens when something is meant for tv there?

It’s not just the kisses, it’s their romance in general here.
i dont have an issue on that regard. i think bai lu has had better chemistry with people but its not bad by any means here. just it doesnt translate to the kisses for some reason
