to be honest its probably me. in general i struggle with modern cdrama. it always ends up feeling they are stretching the story over too many episodes. almost no modern cdrama justifies its episode count.

i think cdrama excel in fantasy and historical dramas and kdramas do modern dramas better

i like this, im almost cought up (halfway through ep 8) but i already feel its dragging things out a little.

maybe theres a second bomb about to drop? but i deifinitely feel like this couldve been one super big bomb instead of two waves of medium impact.

i was gonna say this! i usually only notice the vocal tracks as being nice in dramas because i dont have a well developed ear for music but the just ambient soundtrack here is a standout

yeah to say this is boring is to say

“i cant be asked to pay attention in quiet moments so my eyes glaze over during those times therefore i pick up on nothing so they seem pointless to me, hence the show is boring”

all of this stinks of inexperienced, ignorant and overall bad writing. through and through. how they dealt with the mental health of it all too

i hope no one leaves this series thinking this is love, even calling it toxic love is too generous. i see people saying things like “you cant be that in love youd do all this”… this is depicting mostly obsession not love.

love is best defined by acting in another’s best interest, that is love at its core, famillial, romantic, platonic it doesnt matter if its not functional under that core idea its not love.

people can feel love and it can become something ugly… but id say that was a weak love that lacked integrity to begin with.

if this show convinced us from lu feng’s pov yichen royally fucked him over utterly, then maybe. but even through lu feng’s pov the issue is sinply that he never tried to understand why yi chen would make the choices he did in the fallout of everything, all he could think of was his own suffering.

that said all characters behave like morons in this so im not at all defending yi chen here.

loving a romance series is an extremely personal thing and i dont mean to yuck anyones yum.some people here assured me the whole picture is needed so im powering through.

no one but qin lang is anything but insufferable and stupid… and he is given nothing so… such a waste

yeah…. no the actions the characters take, the ridiculous leaps in logic, its all nonesense and an amateur’s concept of angst and drama.

this series is fundamentally bad. and its a shame cos the starting point of each character is very compelling and so are their archetypes/dynamics.creators simply dont know how to tell a character driven story to save their lives.

i dunno if i can tolerate the absurdity of it all. not that its not realistic, it may be, people tend to be absurd.
but i cannot stand parents like that nor can i be convinced the love their kids

i despise the parents in this and the sons devotion to them despite insane levels of cruelty and disregard (from the parents to the sons)

that said, you may be correctly identifying its not your thing, and at least that is good and valid

all i can surmise is that you have low attention span and low attention or care for details. this is entirely wrong.
