Watching this in 2026 | Context: I started this mainly because of Jo I-geon. I first saw him in Single’s Inferno S5, and since he has such a limited filmography, I figured why not watch more of him even if it's another dating show. Now, onto my thoughts about the cast. Yes, I know it’s all scripted, but let’s be real, we still get emotionally invested and form opinions anyway.
1. Seohyeon She’s so bubbly and instantly makes everyone around her feel comfortable. Honestly, I’d love to be her friend IRL. I’ll admit, I judged her a bit harshly when she first appeared, especially because of that see-through swimsuit, but over time I realized she’s basically one of the bros. Very easy-going and genuine.
2. Jo I-geon Just like in Single’s Inferno, he gives off that cunning, bad boy vibe, but he actually isn’t one. He’s surprisingly gentlemanly. And this isn’t just bias because I like him. I genuinely appreciated how he handled turning down Chaehee (thrice) and Lana, even though she was his initial first choice. He managed the whole Soomin, him, Lana situation with a lot of grace. Also, yes, he is freaking handsome. But his last D-Day decision was so weird, and scripted to the core, but that is why he's No 2 here and Seohyeon is the best!
3. Chaehee Oh lord. I felt bad for her at first, and then I straight-up didn’t. Like, girl, take the hint. The man was clearly uncomfortable. How much clearer could he have been? I really wish she had shown more self-respect, especially not going into his room on the last night. That was painful to watch.
4. Kangrae This dude truly went from boy to man. Some of his dialogues this season were actually killer. To me, he will always be the baby-faced lifeguard though.
5. Soomin Why do I feel like I have seen him somewhere before? Was he in Culinary Class Wars in one of the seasons? If anyone knows, please confirm because this is driving me crazy - cause it's like I think I have seen him, but cannot recollect. Especially after the reveal of the French Restaurant ownership, I think he was in Culinary Class Wars, where else will I notice chefs?
6. Lana She’s absolutely stunning and insanely accomplished. So many hobbies. It honestly felt like I was seeing myself in her, minus the looks obviously. I loved how outspoken she was. That said, the ending where she said her heart was opening up to Soomin felt a bit strategic. Almost like she had a small doubt that I-geon might choose someone else, so she wanted a backup. But honestly, these shows are never that clear.
7. Seoah She confused me, to be honest. At times it felt like she was leading both men on. That said, the subtitles where I am watching might be bad, so maybe I missed some context. But she's really very pretty and damn, so flexible.
8. Dohyun Meh. But I will give him this. His strength was impressive, and his job reveal genuinely surprised me. But other than that not memorable, and at times too weird. The whole non-consensual kiss was another weird fact.
Watched this drama for Cho I Geon. I am currently watching Single's Inferno Season 5 where he is one of the participants, and found him incredibly good looking. The preview they gave there for him was a fencing scene, and I had to come here. His role was support but in no way minor - interesting drama plot for sure, and personally for me Yun Ji-o was the main attraction, even for the limited storyline. I mean Ep 2 - was like ♨️🔥♨️🔥
Is it this Cha Joo Young - https://mydramalist.com/people/10627-cha-joo-young? If so, this will be interesting…
I loved that scene, like I answered to @yoon's comment - I have seen only some clips etc and the last episode of that drama cause of LJY and I remember the scene you're referring to. It was so beautiful!
Is it this Cha Joo Young - https://mydramalist.com/people/10627-cha-joo-young? If so, this will be interesting…
I feel the same. So I was really interested to watch the drama "The Queen who Crowns" but I was short on time, cause life 🥲 and so I only saw some clips etc and the last episode cause LJY was in it. And even in that limited time - I thought okay, she's really good - like one of those amazing theatre actors and actresses, who get really absorbed in their craft.
Now am not sure if it was the role/character - but since you mentioned that she's underrated I feel she's great throughout. Excited to see this drama then!
Since Mina Sue won Miss Earth, all men on the planet are hers 🤣🤣🤣
Ohhhh - it is absolutely possible. And variety shows are infamous for being edited in a way, that shows a different context altogether. When I hear this I feel a bit sad - that someone's being portrayed this way just for the show. But then I remember 2 things: 1. They would have already discussed this and then signed the contract, with probably more pay for this angle? 2. There is no smoke without fire, so maybe she's not so different from what is being shown.
Since Mina Sue won Miss Earth, all men on the planet are hers 🤣🤣🤣
Not just this planet - given Earth is part of Solar System, and ultimately the space beyond - she wants to "get to know" everyone. Literally everyone - aliens too!
Jokes aside - I think the concept for her was already predefined - am sure she must not be such a person IRL. I hope not, cause people around her would then think of her as very insufferable. I think it must have been decided for her to be this way for the show - and any attention from audience, good or bad, works in her favor of gaining popularity - which am sure is the biggest reason everyone is on a reality show. Finding Love - Meh, that's just a dream layer for us as audience.
I think girls are getting exhausted from Mina Sue’s behavior. Well, there’s one girl who now seems like Mina…
Finally finished watch Ep 7 and yes saw it too. I guess cause their beds were next to each other, or they were sitting on adjacent beds and just got talking. We are not seeing a lot of footage of their entire day, so maybe they got closer already.
But Mingee finds Seungil cute, especially in heaven. He acts tough, but he really isn’t.From the beginning,…
Absolutely - I want Min-gee to interact with others. She is a great girl, I feel - and not just on-screen. Not shady, just not something I'd like to see...especially when I see Mingee putting in so much trust and effort. But I just saw Ep 7 and am glad he respected Min-gee and her feelings and chose her for the fried chicken meal / game win. Just hope this continues - but yes, I would have loved if Min-gee interacted with others....
I agree that Seung Il’s timing is terrible and the situation feels awkward—for us and for the girls too. But…
I liked Hyun Jae too basis the first walk/appearance and it was sad he was not picked initially but looks like he's on one track towards Joo Young (basis Ep 6 - am still on it). He definitely won a lot of points regarding his approach towards caring for parents. But I never thought of Min-gee and Hyun Jae - interesting...
Seung-Il, ahhhh I am just not too much into him.. like Min-gee is too powerful as a personality, and looks, and he seems somewhat not worth the efforts she's making.
Honestly, Seung-I’s timing was terrible. Approaching Mina right in front of Min-Gee, asking if she’s busy and then trying to chat with her? That was just awkward and inconsiderate. I didn’t care much for him from the start, and this only reinforced it. Meanwhile, Min-Gee feels so genuine – the kind of person you’d actually want as a friend in real life. I wish Min-Gee would not be so hellbent on Seung-I, not really convinced that he genuinely likes her as much as she does. Plus, she said she likes “cute guys,” yet chose Seung-I, who isn’t cute at all – neither in looks nor personality. He’s more sharp-edged. Woo Sung-min, on the other hand, does have that cute face, and their vibe together made sense, even if they drifted apart. Honestly, I still think they could give it another shot.
That twirl she did before going out to talk to Seung-I? It completely undermined her claim of being “scared” of Min-Gee – it felt like lip service. Sure, it’s a dating show and exploring is expected, but there’s a fine line between exploring and being hypocritical. At the end of the day, Mina’s heart was clearly set on Su-been. Now that he’s gone, it feels like she’s just cycling through Plan B, C, D…
Ep 5: Mina Sue declares she's now also interested in Hyeon-Woo [even the panellists are appalled] And what was that, like am Mina Sue! Like the panellists said she was reassuring herself and keeping her pride in front of the girls (who deep down she knows she has hurt by trying to be with the guy they are individually interested in)
Ep 6 - Part 1: Very obvious, she's not over Su-been Ep 6 - Part 2: How tf did Hyeon Woo become like a relationship counsellor / advisor ? 🤣🤣🤣 Mina is so weird at this point. Or rather she's clever and manipulative again, by pulling him aside she's made any other woman who was interested in Hyeon Woo have doubts and also make Hyeon Woo confused. I hope he's not - but still, so damn weird this girl is.
I’m still on Episode 5 - the one where Su-been and Mina had their private conversation. Honestly, Su-been is my second bias (he was my first before I-Geon showed up 🤣 purely looks-based). Since Hee-Sun was so clearly smitten with him, the romantic side of me really wanted them to be endgame -and I’m still holding onto that hope. So I was disappointed when he turned to Mina, just like so many guys do.
That said, I appreciated how, after the Truth Game, Su-been seemed to regain his clarity. I admire when someone recognizes they’re not getting what they want and chooses to step back rather than force things. I really hope that’s what he was doing when he went to Hee-Sun—not acting out of revenge or jealousy toward Mina. If it were the latter, it would be devastating for both me and Hee-Sun.
Even in that private conversation, I liked how Su-been subtly called Mina out. In his own way, he was saying: *I see through your act.* On one hand, she’s treating every guy like a Pokémon to collect, and on the other, she complains that it bothers her when Su-been spends time with Hee-Sun-who, unlike Mina, has been genuinely interested in him from the start.
Update - Ep 7: Why Su-Been, why?
🚫 Why I Can’t Warm Up to Mina I wish more people saw Mina the way Su-been seems to. I don’t know if this is her true personality or just scripted editing, but I mentally cannot like her. And it’s not only because she’s chasing every guy-it’s also the way she pretends to be a good friend to the girls. Basic girl code says you don’t go after your friend’s guy, yet she does it with a smile that feels like she’s hiding something.
The background music that is played when Kim Jae-jin walks, is so comical and artistic (classical music inspired) at the same time. Which is so much like him as a character/person - at least what we have been shown so far.
Great job - sound and effects team of Single's Inferno S5👏👏👏

(This is the second time Mina has stirred up a triangle – the first being: https://mydramalist.com/785894-single-s-inferno-season-5#comment-24987474)

Back to this triangle: Mina’s behaviour makes it hard for me to warm up to her.
