It taints history apparently, happened after the Scarlet Heart popularity. You might see 'time travel' in new dramas like Joy of Life, but haven't been one anymore to this extent.
This is a fantasy world, just the jianghu. No imperial court dealings or different states fighting.
Think you should look for real historical dramas, instead of costume dramas. Like Qin Empire/Dynasty Epic, Ming dynasty (1566), etc.
Jianghu is the martial underworld, aka sects, gangs, and non martial artists who kinda live in a seperate world from the imperial court with their own code.
I totally agree! But do you maybe know how old is Qing Long? He is Sacred Envoy and one of characters that I find…
Dunno, a couple hundred years, since he's from a demon sect. Qing Long is his name, which means Azure Dragon. Watched this so long ago, already forgot everything.
Great production, but average plot. It started off pretty good, but the multiple romances took too much screentime. Only liked Shen Man Qing's one tbh. The ML was somewhat like a baby Lin Shu of NiF, no martial arts and always ill, but smart I guess (too many coincidences in the plot). Still, one of the better wuxia in a lackluster 2020.
weird wardrobe, and seems it's a low budget lust driven drama. Don't believe women dress up like that in old historic…
It's a low budget parody drama. The low budget (clothing) also adds to the parody, they even make multiple jokes about the clothes and how low budget the drama is. Some clothes are based on weird fashion items, and somewhat roman. It's also pretty funny they hired these actors because the crew had no money, but this drama actually made most of them famous.
If only this was more about Yuwen Tuo and like no Jing Chuo, it would have been so much better. Jing Chuo was an annoying one dimensional 废物. Yuwen Tuo and Ning Ke literally felt like support characters, especially in the first half. This kind of Hu Ge was very nice to see, not monkey carefree like, like in Chinese Paladin and the Myth. Personally liked it more than Chinese Paladin, and it still had so much potential. Such a top cast, Tang Yan, Liu Shi Shi, and Gulinazha were too pretty.
A bit underwhelming, but nonetheless liked the adaptation. The ending was kinda crap, it made me laugh instead. Sad that these kind of time travel dramas are banned, gives it a good odd touch.
