Title Thirty-Nine
Does anyone know any drama where the story is centered on male friendship?
Prison Playbook is really good if you haven't watched it. Record of Youth is strong on this aspect.

People from all over world watch it on Netflix. It doesn't even have to be aired in domestic tv.
It's bc they left Russia. I'd gladly pay much more. Stock value is largely imaginary. I know not many people are on Netflix yet but I don't expect that those who are will ever return to domestic media. Netflix knows the amount of watchers but does not tell.

Once again I found the MDL rating was pretty accurate. I agree with the previous comments and only add that the politics parts were extremely boring. I was skipping most of the last 10 (!) episodes. Sukkie is such a delightful actor, he's untouched by the mess that the drama turns out to be. Just continuing to do his thing light-heartedly and not despairing at any point (this is a compliment!). Kang Sora is always very good, really. And Park Hae Jin always shines when portraying ambivalent characters. I made it to the end because of them.

I love Lee Joon Ki and Shin Se Kyung so much. Want to see them together in a project. But this is not it. As a…
Low rating during airing in Korea doesn't matter these days. I don't get why the domestic rating is still considered important. People from all over the world watch it in Netflix and it's one that has prob one of the most engaged fanbases.

Am sure it's going to be pretty epic. The writers had a multiseasons drama already outlined, that much was very clear from the first season already. We're sad about the delay, but there's a huge fanbase for this series and am more than happy to get to finally see new seasons. The replacements are very good. Lee Joon Gi will be able to pull the Saya part with flying colours. It's a very difficult role. I also love Shin Se Kyung, she never disappoints. Another perfect choice, hope she agrees. It was clear that SJK wouldn't continue. But am happy see that people are finally giving credit now to his out-of-this-world acting as Eunseom/Saya, it will forever remain a grand role. I hope that the Taelha actress returns along with Jang Dong Gun, they were both fantastic in their roles. And that the last of the Neanthals storyline will not be dropped, it's sad but beautiful and metaphoric.

Still , as popular but mediocre actress can be, Suzy's drama choices are better than Yoona.Yoona had no luck with…
Kwak Dong Yeon has risen to main roles (3 ongoing). I know that Junho has chosen wisely like he always has. I don't know how people are supposed to measure popularity but Im Siwan is very popular, respected and successful and will continue to be.

For those who don't like romcoms there's a new season of Good Detective coming out. Personally I think doing a bubbly funny classic romcom well is much harder than doing a standard zombie, detective, law or murder mystery series. Excellent romcoms mixed with serious themes (usually) are the main reason why people from all over the world have permanently landed in k-dramaland. Zombie series are for kids mainly and that audience is not sticking to k-drama. It's not possible to judge a drama not yet aired from a short description. If you read the description of a drama like Find Me In Your Memory is basically sounds pretty crazy, but it's actually a very good drama. One person's cliche is another person's classic. There's a lot of pretense smartness going around, perhaps, which of course has everything to do with the commenter and nothing to with the drama at hand, since it's not even been filmed yet. With some 10 new k-dramas coming out every month, everybody's tastes will be served.

One of the very best k-dramas for me. My rating keeps going up as I proceed - it's now 9.0 and am at ep 14. All the best qualities which made me fall in love with k-drama in the first place! So unique and lovable.

Title Thirty-Nine
I know a lot of people were not a fan of this drama, I loved it however, this show reminded me of the mortality…
In principle I like this kind of thematics but I can't but help compare this to Chocolate, which was for me one of the very best k-dramas and has the same overall philosophy. The disappointment with 39 comes from uneven screentime for the characters, the slow pacing and the somewhat manipulative approach. Memory is another drama with similar thematics I watched recently, and enjoyed a lot more.
