This is so brutal, WW2 is very graphic here. Aren't asadoras meant for family viewing? I wouldn't let my kid watch…
WW scenes tend to be brutal in Asadoras from my experience. I watched "Oshin" as a kid and some scenes still haunt me. It's an interesting perspective to see war in the eyes of regular people. It's a brutal reminder that beyond "glory and honour"- there's also sacrifice and pain...and sometimes lack of choice as well as facing the consequences 🥲
It's that lingering feeling that something is missing in their lives. Arisu got proper closure after season 2.…
The epilogue interview suggested they did find peace.
Kuina for instance found peace in s2 itself since her family finally accepted her. Chishiya too didn't really look that traumatized from what I recall in S2. Bringing them back would be cruel to the characters 🙈
I was like 'what? are they allergic to kiss?' whenever I saw the main couple. But I saw the actress is actually…
I think it's symbolic of how long they've been together? 5 years right? So they've moved from their honeymoon phase to a different more cozy phase together in their life- it's all in their eyes.
It might also be a japanese thing perhaps- don't really recall seeing that many long term married couples in Jdramas showing alot of PDA (at least in slice of life dramas). Even in Mare, Tao and Kento barely had any PDA after they got married.🙈
it's short and sweet. all of the games were very cruel as before lol but the last game I couldn't understand ONE…
There was a comment below suggesting that the whole point of the Alice tag at the end is just to hint that Borderland has game arenas across the world? So we won't get a new spin off but it's good food for thought.
Think it's something to do with the fact they just lost their parents. The sister must have been hit particularly…
People handle grief differently.
The sister seems to be a shell of a person- she was practically robotic even in the previous games, following her brother's instructions without any question. Perhaps, the future we saw was the future she wanted because her brother wanted it? Both were grieving but the sister seems to be out of touch compared to all the other characters. Even when the brother kept losing points, she didn't seem to have the energy to insist that they use her's as well as opposed to all the other characters. Since we know she loved him, there must be more to it.
The brother deserved more but unfortunately life isn't fair 🥲
LMAO when the game just said “ 10 players” and arisu was like “the baby” i was literally screamingg. WHY…
Haha this was me! Almost was surprised they were willing to gamble with it's bracelet- it was honestly refreshing since they didn't actively sacrifice any of the characters to save 1.
No. The hugs and care are platonic. They are literally being hunted down every few hours after all.More like a…
PS: you can ignore the micro-cheating comments. It depends on how you see the characters.
To me, Usagi has always been helpful (and abit sacrificing) even in the past seasons. In her pov she only knew the other guy in the borderline for majority of the drama since she wasn't aware that Arisu was back too. Given that the other guy is disabled too, naturally Usagi teams up with him to make sure they both survive. Arisu does feel a bit purplexed at times but it's not because he thinks she is cheating- he saw a recording of Usagi discussing her fears so he knows why she is nice to the other guy.
It's not as melodramatic as some comments are making it out to be.
Usagi didn't though- she is still incapable of ignoring a person in need just like in the previous season and…
She didn't get closure in season 2 because she lost her memories. Considering her job and she's still exposed to public scruitinity, it's fair enough that she still is haunted by her father. Arisu too lost his memories so Usagi isn't aware how helpful it would have been to tell Arisu her darkest wish. It also doesn't help that she keeps getting dark flashes from the borderline.
Micro cheating- honestly i don't see it. Her hugging him several times isn't romantic- it's more of a "we survived!" kind of hug. If Ryuji wasn't disabled, she probably wouldn't have insisted to help him so much.

Personally it didn't annoy me much. I found myself thinking "dammmn...the audacity of this guy!" during some of his scenes in general but it didn't negatively impact my overall enjoyment.
I guess if you look at his character as someone broken who is a "mad scientist", his character is more palatable.
As for Usagi's interactions with him, it isn't really any different from her self sacrificing nature with the others.
I hated how the brother’s life was just all about his sister and how the sisters was all about hers like bro…
Think it's something to do with the fact they just lost their parents. The sister must have been hit particularly hard by it so he needs to be strong for her. His way of coping their parents' deaths is to make her his world.
(It's sad really how he didn't hesitate even once 🥲)
how did that baby stay in there after going through all that
It was all in their subconscience - since Usagi only found out about her pregnancy right before the dice game, the worst it went through was nearly getting drowned 😉
Is there any love triangle? I read many reviews and comments about usagi and ryuji being very close with usagi…
No. The hugs and care are platonic. They are literally being hunted down every few hours after all.
More like a "brothers in arms" kind of friendship from Usagi's pov. From Ryuji's there's obsession since he's kind of a mad scientist.
If you are looking for a lovestory with the MC though, it's more subtle. They are in a long term relationship that's well beyond the honeymoon phase. So we are in their "family" phase (very japanese if you get what I mean).
Usagi didn't though- she is still incapable of ignoring a person in need just like in the previous season and like it or not, Ryuji did make her wish come true.
They are comrades in her POV- brothers in arms. It's her relentless depression from her dad's death was what was eating through her relationship with Arisu. She loves him but cannot move forward because her past still has a strong grip on her. Her environment didn't allow her to heal from her dad's trauma since she is still constantly reminded about it unfortunately.
He's the true MVP (as of week 5) 🙈

Even we can end up in Borderland 🙈
They resolved all issues by ep 11 so ep 12 is very slice of life.

Even Arisu's motivation didn't involve himself afterall. Ann was already aware but was too hesitant to go back.

REJ strives for more due to her past hardships whereas SY isn't able to truly shake off the ghosts from her past.
