True,,,,that’s what makes this even more sad. It’s interesting how in ep 1 we see Sangyeon as this “princess” like character whereas REJ seemed to be stuck with the fate of being just another average down on luck person but boy did their destiny change based on their choices and support networks🥲

I guess it's the fact that we weren't prepared for his story at all that makes his death feel like a gut punch 🥲 When they read his diary in ep 2, it did sound like he was suicidal but once you truly understand the depths of his despair in ep 7, it just was too much🥲
Finally watched the last episode! It feels less chaotic than the previous episodes but given how much time has passed, it makes sense. Both Hikaru and Haruka have grown up (albeit still abit chaotic)🤭❤️
On a side note, I watched "You and Everything Else" a few hours before the Finale. The stark contrast of how support and trust could impact a person truly affected me. In YAEE, one of the male characters is also gender fluid like Hikaru. Unfortunately, things ended tragic due to the lack of support and suffocating pressure🥲.
Watching Hikaru practically glow in the last 10 minutes after all the angst he had to go through was heart warming. He is truly adored for who he is and not for what society expects him to be. He no longer needs to wear make up as a shield and instead simply enjoy it for what it truly is.😊

Totally agree with you on this. I was expecting worse but the general plot was pretty good for the most part.
The romance- given the “happy-go-lucky” general light hearted atmosphere of the drama, it kind of gets better once you assume that the drama was made for a general audience (including kids) I guess - at least that sort of helped me in the latter episodes🙈
