The age gap compatibility honestly makes sense if you think about it. Taiga was forced to grow up too soon so he is mature beyond his years (despite his shenanigans) whereas Manami for the most part has a sheltered upbringing. If you compare her with even her friend, you can see there is a huge gap between them psychologically even if they probably were quite close to the same age.

Ngl this could be a possibility since the book seems to be a time portal given how even her bag was transported into the past🤔

I wonder how he will solve his identity issue though (since he will have nothing in the future) unless they end the drama before these complications come in 🙈

I agree with you. At the very least she must have been framed in such a way that it seemed that in the eye’s of the Dowager, his mother was a traitor at the time (similar to Yeong’s predicament with the crown prince in ep 10).

It’s not because he first liked her (at least I don’t recall hearing her say that). She got to know him and saw a side of him that the history she knew didn’t show. He wasn’t ruthless and did care for his subjects. And he as an individual while was a bit pushy (occupational hazard when you are a king), he still means well.

Nahhh the original edition disappeared - we can still rewrite history with that missing page (source : me in denial mode)

She kept hallucinating him whenever she looked at the moon since the last few episodes. I guess she could be at odds? Since her mind says that he’s a promiscuous tyrant but her heart knows that there’s more to his story? She’s been in denial for a long time now.

I don’t know but I did see a few comments on how either the novel/ webtoon has a SE. This is extremely unreliable though since I’ve also seen positive comments as well. So my guess is either we are going to be completely traumatized in the past and future OR we’ll be traumatized in the past but will get a worthy HE (would love it if both the past and future have positive endings but I feel that would be too much to hope for)🙈

The Ming chef already knows that there is a plot against the King since he overheard the Ming Envoy conspirating with an unknown Joseon figure. He can’t expose this directly though since it’s too dangerous but he was hoping that the King would understand what he meant- do not trust the people close to him. Since he knows that the King trusts Yeong, he felt comfortable relaying this message through her.

I feel like there is romance but it’s slow burn. Imagine a slow cooker kind of love instead of a microwave kind of love😉
They need to truly fall for each other for their eventual parting to hurt us after all🥲🥲.

Also since the king has a reputation for finding many tributes, they need to make his interactions with Yeong feel more meaningful. And in Yeong’s case, since she really needs to go back home, there has to be a compelling reason to stay. Learning that the “tyrant” king is far more than what history has thought her is a good step🙈

The ending has too many possibilities at the moment. Given the general positive flow, maaaaaay be we might get a happy ending in the future but I’m afraid to keep my expectations high at the moment 🙈

Pretty much most costume C-dramas. They get executed for the most ridiculous reasons at times - sometimes there’s no evidence even🙈

The king was able to humiliate the envoy and simultaneously prove that not all in Ming is devious seeing as he was willing to trust the chefs’ input.

While we won’t get to see what will happen to the envoy, I’m pretty sure he was more than glad that the chefs wanted to move on - there will be less uncontrollable incriminating evidence when he eventually gets investigated by the Ming emperor when he goes back).
