He already knows about how controlling the mum is (and how manipulating parents can be in general) so he will understand her. That's one of the reasons why their marriage is so distant (he flatly told HJ that she shouldn't bother being her mum's puppet with him in one of the flashback episodes).
In the novel, she fell first and he later realised his feelings years before their wedding (kind of like what happened in Hidden Love. She loved him since she was a kid)
No idea how they will do it in the drama since they have changed their childhood story abit.

That's very perceptive of you honestly! The drama is filled with so many lies and contradictions that this could actually be a possibility- specially considering the fact that to the parents, their dynasty is the most important thing🙈🙈🙈

It also looks like they've anyway toned fown Sa Eon since he is way more aggressive with HJ at the beginning in the novel. Personally I prefer YYS's version of Sa Eon though as his behvior makes more sense than in the novel at times based on the scenes they've covered so far

(Heejoo doesn't have any money enough to fund her dad's expensive medi care nor enough funds to pay the penalty to divorce PSE which is why she is so trappeed)
She probably yearns for their love too but it looks like she has given up any hope of getting that which is why she is now reckless. She just wants to break free.
