He's just a random psycho. Sol was just unlucky that she caught his attention in the first couple of timelines. Other than that, Sol has no connection with him as shown in the last timeline.
The real connection is that there's this twisted fate between the driver and Sanjae only. The driver is meant to kill/ hurt Sanjae regardless of the reason. Since things finally changed in ep 16, they managed to break the "curse" (figuratively speaking) 🙊

It's so fitting really. Sanjae and Sol can't really share their story with anybody - so to have their own sweet guardian angel 👵to share these moments with is truly special 🙈
Netflix will definitely get it eventually- no way will they make the same mistake twice by letting LR get away…
