Am I getting jealous vibes from the ‘brother’? By this point from clues dropped in previous episodes…it’s…
I also suspect FL is the daughter of mr. Rong’s murdered best buddy. So far, I don’t detect jealousy from her brother. They seem to have a strong brotherly/ sisterly relationship.

They said the now pregnant wife of the master was an opoum maid?. Yep i would also like more info
The now pregnant concubine was a former governess of the family. After she became Mr. Rong’s concubine and got pregnant, she got her younger sister to “replace” herself as mr. Rong’s latest love lady /opium maid to further her stronghold on Mr. Rong to benefit her family status.

I really like ShiZhen’s character. Her beef is with Mr. Rong, so she’s careful not to harm other family members.

the show mentioned Opium Maid? Does anyone know what is an Opium Maid and what is their job?
The opium maid preps the pipe and serves tea at the opium den. But since mr. Rong’s opium maid is “ private and exclusive ,” she also provides other services.

So far, I’m really enjoying this drama. While Jing Tian’s outfits and styling is not as beautiful as Si Teng’s…
I agree that Jing Tian has a strong presence in the series. I can feel her aura in being Feng Shi Zhen.

I just finished episode 1 and I’m loving it already!!!

I love this period when it’s done well, and the director is delivering nicely. It opens with a violin piece reminiscent to In the Mood For Love which is known for its beautiful cheongsams/qipao. It’s almost as if the director/sound effect team is paying tribute to the movie for its contribution in bringing forth femine essence in the national cheongsam. To top it off, the tango scene is impressively choreographed and shot, showcasing musicality, tension, and mysteriousness. I was sold at this point!

The casting team did a great job with the FL. She has the feisty demeanor as revealed in the alley scene with the neighbor. I love a strong female and she embodies one. I haven’t seen ML’s work before, but so far he’s holding his own.

So glad that I found a new series to indulge in!

I’m so excited the weekend is coming. We finally can get a closure on the series. Snowdrop has been heavy and long, and I just wanted it to end. If I had any say on how it would go, then I hope the main couple gets a happy ending. Although I’ve watched every minute of the aired episodes, I managed to mentally wipe out most unnecessary noise and fillers, and just focus on the ML/FL’s story and their interactions regardless of how much or little screen time is set for them. They are the magic that makes Snowdrop. They are the ONLY reason why I waited patiently for the weekends for the past several weeks; and this weekend shall be the last.

So I was rewatching the kiss scene, and just wanted to come on here and share my thoughts. I think that the build…
Yup.. yup. ..,and yup. I rewatched that scene too and had the same feeling. It’s just too poignant. How can we deny the strong chemistry…unleashed after all the holding in leading up to that moment?

I think Ms. Pi and Boon Ok's sister were friends or something. Since they both were in Germany and Ms. Pi seems…
Yup, I bet my chips it's the "something" like they were in an amorous relationship. I highly suspect that Boon Ok's sister is the one hidden in the folded photo.

ep 11 ending got me squealing so much dfscngshr im about to lose my mind over how cute they both looked
Right? So sweet and cute. And to know that Soo-hoo finally allows himself to show his attraction to Yong Ro. The scene was like an oasis in a desert. I was lapping it all up. I'm content now and it'll keep me going for a week until Saturday!

I'd still be suffering...suffering from waiting for another great series starring Jung Hae-In. =)
I agree. Jisoo acted well in here as a rookie. I'll be on the lookout for her future projects also.

No no she was in a relationship with Chief An 🤣🤣 he played her and made her their own agent!! She admitted…
Even more confirmation that Ms. Pi may be homosexual. The former headmistress was worried that Ms. Pi may be preying on the girls or be a negative influence on the girls in term of sexual orientation. Bear in mind that most Asian countries discriminate against homosexual, especially during that time period, and can even be sent to jail.

No no she was in a relationship with Chief An 🤣🤣 he played her and made her their own agent!! She admitted…
This part is tricky.  I remember this scene and was thinking in my head who's who?  "HER own love was staring at HER when SHE was being tortured."  This line can be interpreted 4 ways.

I don't speak Korean and can only go by the subtitles, and sometimes, nuances in language can be lost in translation.

Not in order of importance, we can interpret that quote above as below.  Items 1 - 3 are assuming the love/lover is a WOMAN.

1) HER (Ms. Pi) own love (a woman) was staring at HER (Ms. Pi) when SHE (MS. Pi) was being tortured. In other words, The lover (a woman) was staring at Ms. Pi while Ms. Pi was being tortured.

2) Ms. Pi herself was staring at HER (Ms. Pi's love/lover/a woman) when SHE (Ms. Pi) was being tortured. This means, Ms. Pi was staring at her lover when Ms. Pi was being tortured.

3) Ms. Pi was staring at HER (Ms. Pi's love/lover/a woman) when SHE (the woman) was being tortured. This interprets as Ms. Pi was staring at her lover while her lover was being tortured.

4) Mr. An staring at Ms. Pi while Ms. Pi was being tortured.

You are assuming #4.  This is due to the production team's skills in creating that illusion and taking us viewers for a ride.

I'm up to ep. 11.

I'm so smittened with Soo-hoo. Jung Hae-In really breathes fire and life into this character. From what has been shown to us, he has so many positive traits. For one, he has integrity and values life, his and others. Innocent lives are precious, regardless of North Korea or South Korea, and he's able to grasp this. He could have just saved himself and Yeung Ro, but no, he's also trying to save his comrades and their families' well-being back home, his sister, and the students and staff at the dorm.

He's caring although he may not be able to display it visibly; one example being the scene where he tried to request for chicken soup for his comrade, Eung Cheol. It seems like nothing, but it says a lot.

He's intelligent with great analytical skills. After acquiring hard evidence, his ability to pivot stance rather than blindly following orders from higher up is praise-worthy. This shows that he's not brainwashed by all the propagandas and misleading political views. One has to understand if one's a pawn and being used, then all bets are off. There's no such thing as dying with glory. If one sacrifices himself, especially if for a stupid reason or worthless cause, then there is no glory in death but plain stupidity. I'm so glad that he's smart enough to see this. Life is of great value.

Great bonus this week is that Soo-hoo finally smiled. His features softened; and the viewers are granted a glimpse of his returned boyish charm. Soo-hoo and Yeung-ro are just too cute in the attic, and I'm excited the production team treated us to a sweet and delicious scene.

Side note on Ms. Pi. I'm beginning to suspect that she's a lesbian and was in a relationship with Boon-Ok's older sister. We have yet to see who's in the photo with her. She said that someone asked her to hire Boon-Ok (this was probably Boon-Ok's sister's request) and this would explain why she puts up with Boon-Ok's misdemeanor and scathing attitudes. Boon-Ok threatened and said something like "I'll tell everyone your REAL secret;" meaning that Ms. Pi's spying for ANSP wasn't even her real secret. So....what's her real secret? That she's homosexual? I'm betting my chips on this speculation.
