So far, I got that Baron has an older masked brother working in the court. We seem to speculate the older brother is Right Chancellor. Based on Baron's hairdo, he's a Northerner. My understanding is that they are trying to dethrone the Emperor, and then WHAT? Who will be the NEW emperor?

I'm also a bit puzzled about Mr. ShangGuan (the other masked man with a group of women dressed in red following him). They are of MidVale and lost their land, and seek to reclaim their land and identity. However, Mr. ShangGuan isn't in direct collaboration with the Baron until recently. So, are we dealing with 2 separate groups, so are they actually ONE giant group, but are mediated by the "ge-ge" masked man (a.ka. possibly Right Chancellor?)

Yup, and his wife almost ways plays a comedic role. Definitely can't image her cast a the wife of a supervillain.

I beginning to think that MTH was once a princess of the lost kingdom, Midvale. She was an orphan and had no memory nor knowledge of her birth. She had a tattoo on her back that Yin Qing seemed to recognize. Anyhow, from watching enough Chinese dramas, the Emperor never ended up marrying a low-born or someone without roots. The story always ended with the FL as someone important, or at least, she'd be adopted by a duke/duchess to give her a background to be marriageable stock for royalty.
