This drama is tagged as a MYSTERY, hence, much isn't explained to us and purposely sprinkled with choppy edits. We are to solve what's going on. So, I think the director and scriptwriter may have done this intentionally.

I'm up to mid ep 3, and I can't tell yet who's the hidden villain. So far, I could only think that Lady Yin was jealous of FL's aunt.

I can't tell who's who among all the guys in the drama except for the elders and the ML. It doesn't help at all that they all dressed the same with the same updos. AND I'm Chinese. Do you have the same problem? 😂

Le'er is my favorite supporting character in here. She is so awesome and wise beyond her age!! Really enjoy watching her especially ep 16.

Yes, I was thinking the same in term of how smart and quick she is. I even thought was she this smart because she’s 30 years “ahead “ of 90’s people and has been exposed to social media and understood the ways of the past through exposure or was it because she already had read the book? I came to conclude it’s all of those combined and she is a millennial who’s inherently intelligent. I enjoy her character, especially in the 90’s universe.

EP 11, the length ML goes to in order for FL not to hear the radio because of the "I hate you" song request dedication he made while drunk. Too hilarious.

It's very typical. It follows a format. Just like FL typically has another guy who likes her other than ML; or ML also has another girl who likes him. The leads also have a bff respectively.

I have to laugh because turtleneck worn under dress shirt is such a thing in the 90's for men.

Ep 9. He's jealous when he found out her Ex and how she worked so hard to support the Ex; and he doesn't even know he's jealous, and starting acting all cold to her. LOL ...Yup, our ML got the beginning of the love bug. 😍

I was thinking the same in the beginning, but I come to believe it's most likely intentionally because it's shot like how a book is written. Imagine how each chapter normally starts in a book. If you were to translate that into a video, it would also have a sudden cut feel, like in this drama. I think the director intentionally add in that feeling.

Life in the 90's when there's no GPS. She had the navigate with a paper map while he drove. 😉It's ice to see how things were back then, aside from the flip phone and pager.
